Hello from Nebraska....

Hi I'm Beth from North Platte, NE I had the lap/band June 25,2002. I lost all my weight in just a little over a year. From 265 to 126 but my Dr said i was too thin so i got to 135 and stayed there for about 1 1/2 years. I felt good at 135ish but in Nov I had to have all my saline taken out, I wasnt really hungry but with the holidays ate more than i should and because of hardly any restricrion ate, and ate. I did get 1cc back in last month and i want more in when we go monday for a fill. I have been very successfull and happy with my results. I would really be happy if my plastic surgeron would have a good job....oh well i'm very healthy and have more energy than my daughters do...well thats enough.....happy to be here on this board. Thanks for the welcome...Mona and I are good friends. She actually was my nurse in the recovery room after my surgery. She's a great friend and wonderful nurse. She now works directally with the Dr's and the hospital. Thanks again, Beth

Wow! I rarely meet folks who have had the band longer than me. I got mine in January 2003. Welcome and nice to meet you! I am curious, why did your surgeon pull the saline? Take care.

Mona invited me to join so here I am! I had some problems like I was coughing all night and everytime I laid down with some vomiting so they took the saline out and everything was fine...I have had some problems with a dialated esopagas( totally mis-spelled) so the good Dr. thought this was the problem again and after the scope he said i had a tiny hianial hernia. After several weeks empty they put 1 cc back in and i still can eat too much to suit me....like a whole ceasar salad. And when I have at least 2 cc's in I can only eat about 4 ouces of solid food. thats how i like it and feel comfortable. I have gained about 15 pounds since nov when they emptyed the band. I have never been hungry since they emptyed it but can hold more food so needless to say thats the reason for the gain. I hate it!!!, later Beth email me personally at [email protected]

BOY would I like to play in the sand there!!! Back here its always cold and wind this time of the year and I HATE cold. Love the HOT summers, my daughters and I have a huge pool that we put up in the spring and boy i can hardly wait...I'm ready for summer. I will be going to southern ca in Oct for a OH conferance wish some of you could go. Its awaome! This is my 4th and they are huge! 300+ attending. later, Beth

Terrific to have you, here, Beth! With, you, vicki, and Mona, I am not the "Oldie," any more! Being 62,and 4 yrs out, that makes me feel good, in 2 ways! ha Hope you'll like our Island, and you sure will meet a lot of great people!

Guess that makes me the Oldest Oldie....haha I will be 64 in Nov and 6 years out in June....do I feel that old...heck NO!! When my mother was 59 I thought she was older than dirt now 69 looks like quite a party!!! Thanks for the welcome, later Beth
