OT - Vegas, worth it?
My husband has always wanted to go to Vegas. He turns 50 this year and I've been planning a surprise for him to go there for a 4 day trip - to be joined there by his brothers and his best friends (he's hung with the same 3 guys since cub scouts until we left Louisiana - he hasn't seen them in almost 2 years).
What I want to know I guess does Vegas live up to the hype? We don't have a lot - I've been saving for this trip since the September after Katrina. I'm not going - I want him to have a blast (not worry about whether I'm having fun or not or doing stuff "I" want to do).
Any thoughts?

Vegas is unbelievable!!! You will be amazed at the 24 hour lifestyle, the hugeness of it all, and the lights, glamor and glitz!
My recommendation is to see at least one show while you are there. Bette Midler is now there, Barry Manilow is there, there are two or three different Cirque de Soleil shows. You have many, many choices.
Definitely go!
Vegas is larger than life....it's amazing....it's hard to believe that anything like it exists. I got lost in the lobby of the Venetian Hotel....I wandered and wandered for almost 45 miutes and couldn't find my way out....I kind of wished I had bread crumbs like Hansel and Gretel so that I could mark my path.......so, in answer to your question....YES...Vegas is worth it....but be sure to have good walking shoes or else those poor tootsies will be aching.
I dont drink or gamble...so I wasnt impressed. It was fun to walk the strip and see all the architecture. We saw a show and that was entertaining. I went to a great buffet, but now that wouldnt have the appeal either...lol. I should mention I was raised in Nevada...so I guess I wouldnt impress easily. I had a baby stroller and those people that stand on street corners shoving those stripper pics on you to get you to come to their adult shows were pushing those things on me. Its like would a lady with a baby want to come see other women dancing naked? I guess stranger things have happened.
You're such a sweet wife! I went to Vegas once, and that was it for me! I don't drink, or gamble, either, and I enjoyed the hotels, and shops, in between the hookers, and naked women! ha At that time, I enjoyed the cheap food! That was the highlight for me! We saw Wayne Newton, which was a good, but I wasn't impressed with him, at all! I would think your DH, will have a good time, with his friends!
