I need some sanity......
Okay, I lead a support group for my surgeon. I am used to "newbies" who have lots of questions. I am used to questions that might seem basic. I do not get upset at that. But......
I have answered several questions on the lapband board today. Many that are very good questions. Then there were a few....
I answered one where it seems evident to me the surgeon is not skilled (couldn't successfully do a fill so the patient is now afraid of getting another fill). I answered one question where the surgeon obviously had no pre-op education so the poor person didn't have a clue how to use the band.
And then the kicker. I responded to someone who it seems is frustrated because she "can't eat as much as she used to...." This was in response to getting a fill.
Okay folks. The reason we have the band and we get fills is so we can't eat as much!!!
All right. I'm done now. Thanks for letting me rant in safety.

Thank you Marcia! I'm usually pretty sane - but there were just too many uneducated questions in a row.
I remember somebody (not me but I wi**** had been me) who said, "most people spend more time picking out a pair of jeans than they do researching weight loss surgery!" It's amazing.
By the way, we will have tons to talk about come baseball season!
We just ordered our spring training tickets yesterday. Take me out to the ballgame.....
I promise not to hold that against you.
I have actually been to Yankee Stadium. I was there for the game when the fan jumped from the upper level and landed in the netting behind home plate. In fact, my seat was behind home plate so I had a front row seat!
I actually try to visit ballparks whenever possible on my business trips. So far I have been to:
Kingdome (Seattle)
Safeco Field (Seattle)
Angel Stadium or whatever they call it (Anaheim)
The Ballpark at Arlington (Dallas/Ft. Worth/Arlington)
Coors Field (Denver)
Turner Field (Atlanta)
Yankee Stadium (NY)
Shea Stadium (NY)
Wrigley Field (Chicago)
I can't think of the name but the ballpark the White Sox play in....
I have also been to the ballpark in Houston but not to a game, just for a tour, so that one doesn't count.
This year, I think I am going to St. Louis - about my fourth trip but so far the Cards have not been in town. I sure hope I make it there on a week they are in town this year....

This is why it is so important to have your head in the game. Some people truly just stumble through this, eating whatever will go down. Then they wonder why they don't lose weight.
You have 2 camps. #1 views their restriction as a blessing and an answer to a life-long problem.
#2 views it as an obstacle, and keeps trying to eat foods that don't work. Then vomiting, then getting depressed because they can't eat.
Not everyone is ready to give up food.
