missed you guys
I hear that most gall bladders of the formerly obese go south. My doctor told me to prepare myself. Me..without health insurance...I hope it holds on til I get some! I am glad you are recovering. Does it feel weird when you eat something? Someone told me that is gallbladderless...when she eats fat she can feel it.
You know, so far it hasn't felt weird at all. The funny thing is I was on clear liquids the night after surgery and the next morning I got full liquids (mmmm...boost and cream of wheat). Then they said I could have solids for lunch. What did I get? ENCHILADAS! The nurse said, "Well, this will sure be a good test for you!" I ate about 1/4 of it and it was fine and about 1/2 of the brownie for dessert. I wasn't very hungry, but it didn't give me any trouble either - except I could kind of feel things "pulling" on the inside when my stomach was churning stuff up. For dinner my husband made me some soup, but that was pretty low fat.
I'm up now because I thought I could make it all night without getting up to take another vicodin, but I was wrong.
Where you live are there any county hospitals or hospitals that do a lot of indigent care? The place where I work and where I got my surgery done is like that and they tend to be very flexible about things like payment plans - they're happy to get any money at all.
