how is life here on the Island...I NEED to get away....Calgon Take me Away

Just thought I would check in with everyone here on the Island...I love that we have this wonderful get away... and boy do I NEED to get away... Here we are n Clinton MS...it has been a little on the cool side (some nights really cold...especially when the roof had a 8ft X 8ft hole in it) Yes...we are in the middle of construction central...this past week with the heavy rain.. they determined that the roof leaked around the chimney...sooooo not only did they take out a brick wall that was cutting off the rooms....but also a fireplace, full wall of chimney, and a full wall of brick that is on one side of the kitchen...Can we say....dust... ...everywhere ...we did cover most of the furniture and I stayed in the other end of the house with a very heavy sheet of plastic "trying" to filter out as much as possible...Yesterday I spent the day just trying to find the kitchen... On a good note I have this very large area now open and we have this basicly blank canvas...so we are now looking for new Ideas...been watching all the improvement channels...we now have an L-shaped area about 40ft X 35ft...in that area we are planning the living room, kitchen, dinning room with a small section taken off the one side for a laundry room / storage pantry...(never can have enough storage room... ) So I do have a question on this...anyone have any really cool web-sites for room layouts...especially kitchen...???? We did manage to get the roof covered with panelling each night...and they are getting the roof and shingles on today or tomorrow...(it is supposed to rain on Weds.) but today is going to be a "down" day...(because I am just to tired to do to much at least this morning..) so I am trying to find some ideas... I hope that everyone is doing well ... we really do need to start working on our tans... Blessings, Debbi

All I can say to you, is GOOD LUCK, hon! Wow! Glad you're patient! You mean YOU work on your tan. We have 6 inches of snow on the ground! ha

Well, no snow here but I certainly wont be taking the time out for the tanning myself...unless you think I could have gotten some sun with the open roof??? that is one thing that I will be missing from Sonda...she had a tanning bed... hope that all your snow melts soon

I really really despise construction....I've been putting it off for a couple of years but I do want a new kitchen and to get the bathroom redone. The thought of getting started is exhausting to me. I've always liked the HGTV show and they have a website...I haven't checked it out yet. If you find any, let meknow and I'll do the same!
