Every month on the first day of my "visitor" I have a pb episode. So when am I going to learn that TOM means that I have to change things up? Specifically, slow down and maybe do some mushies...sheesh! Anyone else notice this?

I'm always tighter just before and during...although now, I might be saying I WAS!!!! It's too good to be true, but I think it's gone....

Listen darling, you will still get all the cravings and moodiness, all the symptoms, even with your procedure, just not...you know ;o) I haven't had it for real since 6/06. It is GREAT!!! I'm glad you are happy with the results!

I noticed that. I think I just went through a "cycle" without any bleeding. Weird, yet wonderful...

Awww....I'm just about 2 yrs out and I'm happy to report that I hadly have any visitors (TOM) anymore. (I'm probably the only woman on the planet willing to do the Bring on Menopause Dance!!!!)....but I'm fine with it!! I just turned 47 and for the last 5 yrs, and actually since I hit my 30's, I've been spared the stress. My TOM has been nothing short of non-existent. A cramp here or there.....and a self proclaimed right to be PMS.....but other than that....a non issue. I have read about swelling and tightening so I do empathize.......... We'll need to find you some fun mushies.....I'm finding that the fat free pineapple cottage cheese isn't as great as it used to seem.... but it's better than an episode!! - Ann

Thanks, Ann! I just love all of you. As for the sleeve procedure...the surgeon removes 85% (depends on the surgeon) of the stomach. The stretchy part is removed leaving the muscular (therefore, harder to stretch) banana-shaped sleeve. The stomach is able to hold about 4 oz. at a time. Some days I can hold a bit more, but most days I hold less. The best part is...the part of the stomach that makes the hormone gherlin is removed. That hormone is responsible for hunger. Nothing is done to the intestines. The procedure is solely with the stomach. If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer.

I have a question, Bridget. Does the surgeon actually REMOVE the stomach or does he leave it inside? I have always been curious about that, because I thought they leave it in with RNY....

No, no. It's gone gone gone! I really wish I'd asked to see it before it was tossed out the back door for the neighborhood dogs! Oh well...
