Vanity Sizing...a sad bit of reality.
My favorite pair of jeans is Lucky Brand, size 28 (6). Most of what I wear is still a size 8, but I love being able to say I can wear a size 6!!
OK, so now for the dose of reality. I have an old pair of jeans from college that I hung onto for all these years (circa 1978). I put them on last night. I could get them zipped up, and I probably wore them that tight way back then. But, they are *tight*. And they are a size 11/12.

So with the new vanity sizing...when they say the average woman in America is a size 14, in the olden days that would have been like a 18?....Thats scary.
But sizing is strange because of the fits now too. I tried on a jr's 13/14 and it didnt fit because it was the narrow fit through the hip and thigh.
Tried on another pair of jr's 11/13..smaller in the waist and bigger in the thigh and butt and it fit.?????????weirdness.
And, of course, Junior sizes in general fit differently than misses sizes. The 70's jeans that I have are a similar "shape" to what I prefer now, snugger in the waist, and fuller through the hips and thighs. But, is an 11/12 a Junior fit? I dunno...they throw you when they combine both sizes, LOL!
