I woke up this morning and . . . * My elbows were not touching wood * Nothing hurt very bad * I am 180 lbs. less that I used to be * My 10th grandchild is due any day now * I have a good wife and a nice home * I have a roof over my head and plenty of food on the table * I have a job and a side business * There are a lot of things I enjoy in life that I didn't at one time * I have many caring bandster friends I didn;t have before and the list goes on! God is good and I am a blessed man! Blessings, Ron

What a great attitude, Ron!~ We ALL have so much to be grateful for, even if it doesn't appear so, all the time! I have been telling myself for years, it can always be worse, especially when things are really bad. All in His own time!

You are so right my friend! When I have an "attitude of gratitude" life is so much sweeter!

What a way to bask in the goodness of the LORD, Ron. Too often I want to complain about things, then, I am reminded exactly how blessed I am in life. Thank you, for a wonderful post!

Hey Ron! I just noticed on your profile that you're the same age as my mom, who is having a band put in on Tuesday! Do you have any inspiration or wisdom you can pass on to her?

Only that it works great for folks out age as well as for younger folk and it gave me new quality of life. If she has any concerns, feel feee to have her email me. Blessings, Ron

Ron, my mom has a hard time figuring out how to turn the computer on, much less send an actual e-mail! Did you have a lot of health problems prior to surgery?

Dev, I had so many health issues I was told by a cardioligist and a pulmonoligist that I probally would not live too much longer. I had diabetes and was taking 2000 mg. of Metformin daily, I had very high blood pressure, sleep apnea, asthma, crippling arthritus, fluid retention, and ulcers. I was taking 18 different meds daily, some several times. Today all of that is GONE, except the fluid retention, which has gotten remarkable better. The only meds I take today are Lasix for the fluid, ad supplements. I am in excellent health. Big, big difference! Give your Mom my best wishes and encourage her to go forward. If she would like to speak to me personally, I could e-Mail you my phone number. Blessings, Ron

Thanks Ron I'll be heading down to San Antonio Monday night and her surgery is Tuesday morning, so I'll e-mail you if she wants to chat. She does know one person that goes to her water aerobics class that had a band put in a couple months ago, but I don't think she had as many health issues. My mom has atrial fib, CHF, diabetes and hypertension. I'm hoping this gets rid of most of it!

Dev, I was 58, when I was banded, and I had diabetes, HBP, High Cholesterol, severe arthritis, and extreme trouble even walking! It was all gone, 6 months out, and I was able to have both knees, and hips replaced. That was 4 yrs ago, and I've had no problems. The only thing that remains, is my arthritis, and really has nothing to do with my weight, now! I wish her all the best!
