Is this CRAZY or what?

I got a copy of my hospital bill that they sent to Kaiser for my Ablation (uterus burning) that I had done last month. $17,460.00 JUST FOR THE HOSPITAL! I don't know how much Kaiser will pay them, or if they negotiate, but that's the bill. For an out-patient surgery. I was there 3 hours, and in the operating room about an hour. No wonder our health care system is so out of whack!

To edit: My surgeon was a Kaiser doc, in case you were thinking this includes the doctors bill too. It does not...just the hospital!

wow...that's doesn't even include the dr's bill...very steep!

It is terribly out of whack... We need major health care reform. It shouldn't be just for the rich. I would have had a revision but I can't afford it. So many of us put off doing things that would be good for us and wait until it is an emergency. Usually the insurance will pay for emergencies. Its sad but true...

Have you seen the movie Sicko? Dont get me started on health insurance as thats why I have to go back to work...Hospital bills are so outrageous as to be laughable....well until you cry. I know you are covered so no worries...but for goodness sake!
