call backs from Docs

I haven't seen my PCP since, well before I lost my band in April, so I called the other day to make an appt and had to leave voicemail for her nurse, that was 2 days ago, no call back. I love my doctor, but her nurse, no matter what I do, she just doesn't like me, I don't think she likes her job either... and to top it off... The first time my band slipped I was next door with my son at his physical, and I went to my doc to tell of my sudden complaints... this nurse wouldn't come near me, like I was a leper... she took my BP and pulse and they were alright, I went home and called my surgeon and had that fixed. after I had the repair on the band, I called her(the nurse) and explain what had happened... but at the time, I thought I was having a heart attack. I am pretty sure she officially hates me... I love my doctor, but if I can't actually see her, what good is she to me. I can't toss any complaints out, this nurse has been with her since forever. I'd hate to have to rely on her for a med emergency.

Most nurses, are great, but I know what you mean, Deb. I have a prescription nurse, like that! I cringe, everytime I have to talk to her! What can ya do?

Hi Deb, so sorry you are having trouble. I believe you have the right to complain, there is a clinic administrator or a hospital adminstrator or someone involved with your bariatric program that has to be accountable. I had to be so assertive when I had my band leak, I just wasn't going to quit after all I'd been through. I urge you to explore what channels to take to get someone to listen to your experience with this nurse. Also your doctor must be accessible to you, just let her know that you have been frustrated in your attempts to see her. I think you might be surprised at the results. Best of luck to you, Deb. Take care. Mary

I called the office again and requested an appt. They tell me I have one for this Monday at 2:30. No one even called or left a message... is that wacky or what. I can't make it in such a short notice and the timing is way bad, too many kids to worry about. So I wait for yet another call.

I'm sorry that she gives you such a hard time. I ended up changing doctors because of one of the girls in his office... It just wan't worth the hassle for me.

I think you should complain...write a letter...or whatever. I think the doctor would like to be aware of the situation...especially if you are considering switching. JMO....I hate to think of you being treated that way.
