OT - The crazy thing that happened to me on the way to the park.

Well, it was about 60 degrees here today and my friend Meghan and I decided to go to the park and run today instead of hitting the treadmill. So after school I went home, changed and grabbed the dog to get over to the park by 4:30. On the way to the park I realized that my new car has an extremely large key and I can't tie it in a double knot to my shoe and that I didn't have pockets in my running outfit. So, I called my mom to give her an idea for a birthday gift - I don't even know if they make such a thing for runners to hold keys - but it is worth a try. So, I called what I thought was my parents number but when the person on the other end answered it was neither my mother or father. It was some guy named Mike. He is in law enforcement. He lives near the bridge (I live in the tri-state area) about 30 minutes away from where I live. I kept apologizing for taking up his time and trying to get off the phone with him and all he could say was, "Beth, this could be our destiny. I will call you later tonight." I said, "Mike, I don't date anyone younger than I am." He said, "You don't have to worry about that (he didn't sound too old.) Then I said, "I appear younger than I really am." And he said, "I'll be the judge of that." I apologized again and he said he would talk to me later. I got to the park and talk about a high before running - I ran the 2.8 miles in 34 minutes. My fastest time ever because I never run outside. Wow - this was long... sorry.

Wow! Ya just never, know, honey! maybe it is your destiny! ha

He sounds nice just please be careful. Sometimes things are just meant to be. I'm hoping he will be your meant to be...

Wow I'm speechless. What an afternoon you are having. Just dont meet him in person alone or tell him anything about yourself until you really know he is in law enforcement etc. Stranger things have happened I suppose...it sure was a good thing for your run!

Beth!!!! My hubby is 6 years younger than me and it is wonderful! What an interesting call - keep me posted.

Oh Boy.....that's a strange one. Now you said it was a long story....but I think we need some more info.....and I KNOW that we're all in this for the happy ending. I hope he's everything you've been dreaming about since you hung up the phone. But I've just got to know......So, you realize you dialed the wrong number....and then go on to tell him that you want some concoction that holds keys for your b-day!! There's a little more humor to this story....so, please, fill in the blanks. Hey, stranger things have happened.....Before you meet him..... Can you reverse look up his number and check him out just to be safe....just to be on the safe side. I hope this is one of those fairy tale stories....I'll be your biggest admirer. But more than anything, I'd like to know that you're safe!! - Ann

Wow! PLEASE be careful Beth. I hate to be a killjoy, but most of that stuff only happens in the movies. I know you are intelligent enough to figure this all out yourself, but the mother in me has to put my two cents worth in. Now that I've got that off my chest....it's kind of romantic isn't it? What if he looks like Gerard Butler! Sigh...........

Yeah, go to anywho.com and reverse look up his number. Wow.. that is the craziest phone call.. how did you guys keep going and going on the call? I get alot of wrong numbers on my cell phone, and when I turn out not to me lakeesha, mary, paulette, frank, travone, or sophie, they hang up. lol I only once had a guy wanna keep chatting, and that completely weirded me out.. (sorry) lol But then again I was married. Good Luck and be Safe AND.. great job on the run!
