Today I had my first Supartz shot in the knee (first of 5 for 5 weeks), and man that hurt more than you can imagine. I did not expect that, and should have guessed when my doc held me leg in a vice-like grip before giving me the shot. And he smiled the whole time, and afterward said, "Sometimes the shots can hurt a bit." I have a super pain threshold and I was about to go through the roof with this one. It had better work!

OMG! I am really sorry. Not something I would want to deal with, either, if it doesn't work. Fingers crossed this will provide at least some relief. Just remember how many times you've been told that losing weight is the best option and, gee, you're still in pain. Gotta love that! Next time, though, your doc had better watch out. You're experienced now and know where his sensitive parts are, lol. Lori

Yeah, next time my foot will be nestled right by his sensitive parts, in anticipation of sharing the pain. Although I think he is already on to me....

I hear you, honey! The cortizone shots were nothing, but the Synvisc shots were really bad, so I know what you're talking about! One a week, for 5 weeks, hehe? I hate it when Dr's smile through YOUR pain!~

Oh why did I not expect the silly shot to hurt??? It was much better in a short time, but the memory of the shot lingers on...

It will! I have no doubt about it. Just 4 more shots to go, and I've heard this Supartz works really well for up to a year.

Oooh, so sorry Shelly (I have to type it that way, so I can remind myself that you're not Shell, which is how I've "pronounced" your name in my head for the past year, LOL!) Hope this works for you, and that you get some benefit from that agony! Tami

Aww Tami, you can call me Shell - most people do. I am excited about this regimen - trading 5 shots for a year of pain relief? Woohoo!
