Fitness - If it came in a bottle, everybody would have a great body.

I went back to work today. Ugh. My 12 ½ year old mini daschound is in ICU at the Vets with a severe pancreatitis attack She was screaming in the night . So now I am tossing up joining the new gym vs vet bills. I know I am a wonderful procrastinator if I don't have to go somewhere to exercise. Discipline is a wonderful attribute if you have it. This thread is great for me. Thank you all.
So before I left work I .....
Ran up and down five flights of stairs twice.
and later on went for a short walk without my dog

Hi Sharon!
Sorry about your pup! Poor baby. I don't know what I'm doing for exercise today. Spent most of the day shoveling out from 12" of snow yesterday and my back is killing me. It's 0 degrees outside, so I don't think I want to get my exercise outside today....will probably do the dreaded elliptical. I am seriously thinking about joining the gym again, as much as I hate to. Can you see a pattern here...I HATE exercise, "formal" exercise anyway. I love hard physical labor because I am actually accomplishing something. Gyms just make me feel like a hampster on a wheel. Motivate me Sharon...Motivate me!
Sharyn, so sorry, to hear about your fur baby. Hopefully, she will be fine! 5 flights of stairs? More power to ya, sweetie! I did my chair and weight routine, at 6am, as I washed the kitchen floor, first, and then let it dry while I exercised. Michael sleeps late, so I try to get as much as I can done before he gets up. Was going shopping early, but, -4 degrees changed my mind! ha
Sorry about your dog, Sharyn. May she feel much better soon and be home quickly. I am having do issues, too. One of my fur babies has Glaucoma. She had surgery last week.
On to the exercise!
1 mile brisk walk on the treadmill (200 calories burned). Then, strength training for upper body. I am still feeling it!
Poor pup! I hope he's feeling better soon!
Today I get my weekly therapeutic massage. Heaven on earth I tell you (after you work through the pain, lol). Guess I'd better get some of the muscles moving so that I can truly appreciate it.
I'm thinking I need to really try and clean my house (or at least the area around my chair) so that'll be my big move and anything else is gravy!
Oh, I did go to the mall yesterday and walked or pushed my wheelchair most of the way. Yah, me!
Sharyn, hopefully your pup will be home in no time and not cost too much $$ for you.
