To all of you fabulous vets...what would you say has been the giggest change ( or changes) you have made that have caused the greatest weight loss. I'm sure people have asked this before but you don't mind giving me some inspiration do you? : D Thanks and lovies! Linsey

Seriously? I stopped dieting. Learning to eat like a normal person has made all the difference, and the band gave me the strength to learn this.

I think my biggest change was stopping washing down everything I ate with a gallon of diet Coke. I never realized I was washing it out of my stomach and making room for more food. Who knew??? My second biggest change was eating the protein first. I used to stuff myself with carbs.

Not washing the food down - that was another major change for me too!

The biggest thing, and I'm NOT being glib, is I stopped eating everything in sight! I was a total emotional eater, and when I was upset, I'd eat!~ Result, 290lbs! Every co-morbidite, known to man. Also, what Chelle said, I stopped trying to diet. I used to lose a LOT of weight, and gain it right back! Now, I eat a fairly balanced menu, and have changed my eating completely!

Eating on a schedule. I set my eating times and pretty much stick to it. I have never just eaten what the band would let through. That might work for a while, but when you go through times where your band is looser, it would be a disaster. Sooooo, I think in "blocks" of time. I'm in a non-eating block right now (my hardest time). I don't think about after dinner or tomorrow. I just tell myself I can wait for dinner to eat. And then I do the same thing after the next meal. I water load or Crystal Light load until it's time for me to eat again. Works for me!

No question, Linsey...being consistent and progressive with my exercise. I realized yesterday that I actually accomplished my last year's New Year's resolution, which was to exercise at least three days a week. I managed to do that for an entire year, even through vacations and minor illnesses. Tami

I think I have to agree with Chelle. Eating like a "normal" person and not dieting seems to have made a world of difference.
