Exercise Thread BEGINS!
We have to think of a good name for this instead of 'exercise' lol. It is 10.30 pm Jan 1st here so if I leave it til late to post it should be there in your morning I don't exercise everyday... you have to have 'recovery' time..... so the days I don't I'll post some 'exercise' snippet As with all exercise programs.. if you are just starting out.... or have had a significant time since your last check-up.. it's often best to get clearance first. Even though we are are supposed to huff and puff to get the heart rate up at least three times a week (a good sex life takes care of that ), I do see movement as exercise. So remember the times you take the stairs instead of the elevator, time you spend in your garden, parking the car a little further away from work, everything counts! When you are sitting watching tv.. get some hand weights or fill up two water bottles with water and do some arm curls. For those who are going to a gym or out walking.... keep an eye on the distances and times etc you are doing and set goals. It does get easier and more enjoyable! And remember:
"Those who think they have no time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness"
My exercise goal is to compete in a Triathalon
January 1st 2008
*Walked around the block with grandson
*An hour or so at the beach in the surf getting battered by waves with a 2 ½ and 5 yr old.
* Pumped up my bike tyres
