Ok you all know that I am president of the Turtle Club. I am so ready to give this title up. I know that I will have to stay vigilant to accomplish any goals that I make, but I just have to do it. I want to lose 50 lbs this year. It has taken me two years to lose 50 so far, but I have not been giving it my all. Coupled with the fact that restriction has been somewhat of a problem for me to achieve, I have been a very slow loser. My # 1 plan of attack is to focus on my strong points. I want to clean up my diet. I am thinking somewhere along the lines of South Beach with calorie restrictions and focusing on veggies, veggies, veggies!!!!! I know how to make food taste good and be healthy and I like healthy food. This is what I have going in my favor. I will be going to my Dr. in about a week to find out what gives with my band. I can eat way to much. If I make excellent choices all of the time, this would not be a problem. According to my Dr., I already have about 5.5cc's in my 4cc band. I am really afraid to get anymore. I really think that I may have stretched my tummy. I don't have any real symptoms of this except that I can eat alot and have vague pains around my rib cage and back. Once I know what is going on, or that everything is honkey dorey, I am really going to make it my priority to eat the way nature intended. I want to eat way less refined carbs, cut down on fat and restrict calories. But it is going to have to taste good. More planning and work will be involved but I am worth taking the best care of myself that I possibly can. Exercise will have to play a part in this, but first I am making my diet the priority. I know that when I am feeling better and shed a few lbs., I will feel more like exercising. What are your weight related goals for 2008??? I will also post this on the main LB board.

I think it is a great idea to cook those chicken breasts and have them ready to dress up. I love putting an ethnic slant on my meals, Mexican, Italian, Mediterrainean, Asian, etc. I am definitly going for more veggies and salads this year. I have no problem getting in enough protien so that is not the issue. Getting rid of the junk is # 1. Hey girl, we got what it takes, we just have to use it. Best of luck and congrats on the walking.

I want to make it to goal shooting for my birthday in April but it will probably be my Bandiversary. I also am going to make exercise a consisten part of my life which I have not since banding. If I can get rid of all the crap (i.e. sugar) I'd be a happy woman.

Goal by birthday sounds good and do-able. I think that's what I'm going to shoot for as well. I'm thinking about buying a treadmill since I hate walking outside when it's cold. Happy New Year

Have you considered an eliptical. I like them better than treadmills. You don't even have to plug them in. Good luck with your birthday goal.

Oops, just hit the order button on the treadmill moments ago! I have tried eliptical's at the gym and don't enjoy them as much as walking or running. Probably because they are a lot harder and I can only do about 10 mins on them. Thanks Phyllis and good luck with all of your goals for 2008!

More water, and better planning of my meals will help me to hit goal in 2008!
