NEW YEARS! Go out or stay in???

We used to always go out with friends, but THEN, we started having a good dinner, and movie at home, and that's the way it's been for years, now! Michael won't go out to eat, anymore, so I fix steak and shrimp, and so forth, and we always, buy a LITTLE bottle of alcohol free Champagne! Not bad, and have a toast! Neither of us sees the ball drop, anymore! ha NYD, I watch the Rose parade, and take down all of the decorations! For all of you going out, "Be Careful out there, it's amatur(sp?), night!!"

Sharon, That sounds like a lovely evening. I always prefer a movie and dinner at home. Too many weirdos out there. What do you fix with your steak and shrimp. And how do you cook your shrimp? I'm curious. I am thinking of doing bacon wrapped scallops tomorrow.

Yum, scallops are SO good fixed like that! I start with 2 sirloin strip steaks, and cut a small end off one, for me, then, brown, in a tad of EVOO, and take my little piece out, as I like it very rare. Add fresh mushrooms, to the pan, turn on low, and steam, gently, and then add my steak right at the end. Melts in your mouth! I buy the already cooked jumbo shrimp, and serve with sauce, like shrimp ****tail, I make the sauce with ketsup, and horseradish, serve in margarita glasses. with the steak,and lemon juoice for the shrimp. I make twice baked potatoes. Bake in oven, at 400, for about 40 minutes, the skin will be crunchy, take potatoe out, and mix, with a tad of LF sour cream, I use Smart balance Light margerine, and chives, put in potato skin, sprinkle w/a little shredded, Jack cheese, and put under broiler, for just a few minutes, until cheese browns. I fix garlic toast for Michael, too, I throw on a couple of cherry tomatoes, to the cookie sheet w/ the toast, after, I swish a little EVOO, and salt and pepper, on them, for me! ha Wow, that took a book! Sorry! I always make Michael a hot fudge sundae, later! Michael, enjoys it so much, and after all, I want to make his life the best I can, while I can!
