OT: Heading South

I've decided to go ahead and take the plunge...I'm moving to Orlando in June. I will never know where this will go as long as we are 15 hours apart. So, I'm looking for a job and a doc! On a side note, he has graciously offered up his rental house for J & I since we WILL NOT live together until we are married.

Tonya! OMG! You are a smart girl. That should give you plenty of time to see if this will work. Here's hoping!!!

Thanks Nancy! I'm going to be working like a fiend in the next few months to get some money saved up but I am happy to know I already have available housing. I want to be there for at least a year before I would consider marriage. It's too hard to see how things will work so far apart. We are both on our best behavior when we are together for a weekend/week at a time.

The thing is, you'll never know if things will work out unless you take the plunge. Life is short. Take chances! What's the worst that could happen? If things don't work out, you can always move back. If things do work out, it will be sooooooooooo worth the effort. I am going to have to live vicariously through you. I am having to get back into the dating scene after a very long time and am scared to death. I will pray that everything works out the way that you want. Cindy

Thanks Cindy! This is just the weirdest situation because we dated when I was 20 and here we are again thanks to my friend who I set up with his friend. They've been married for 9 years. I had never thought to ask about him until this past year and it was just an out of the blue question. Take the plunge! You never know...if nothing else get some free movies/dinners/drinks/etc. out of the deal!! ;)

How true! I figure at this point in my life, I need to at least get out there and practice again. If they don't work out, at least I tried. I gain nothing by just sitting around. The dating rules have changed a lot since I was first out there though. That's the part that scares me. A friend told me that you are expected to sleep with guys by the third date! WTF!?!?!?! This is the stuff that scares the heck out of me! Cindy

Expected??? I think it does happen earlier than say before but 3rd date is pushing it. The difference now and probably when you dated before is now some people have "friends"--people that they date/sleep with strictly for that purpose with no intention of anything further. That being said there are still plenty of us and men that appreciate it that wait a little bit to offer the cookies in the cookie jar!
