Good Mornin all:
Saturday mornin, got to sleep in a bit this morning. Have to get up and take my antibiotics around 6, doc said I cannot stray from that schedule, then got to crawl back into bed and relax for a change.
Have a 3 day weekend woo-hoo. Loving the thought of not having to go to work on Monday. I do have some cooking/baking to do for church, we are having a luncheon after service to celebrate Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. So off to the store once Gene is done working to pick up what I'll need to do the cooking and baking for tomorrow.
Work is crazy busy. I have so much information and knowledge to share with the new person in the department - yet only having two weeks to do so is just not enough time. I do have to start packing up my desk next week - next Friday is my last day in my current department. I've been in this department since I started with the company, in different positions, so it will be sad to be leaving. In the new position I will still be working with most of the folks I do now just in a different capacity.
I hope you all have a great weekend..

skalicky does not follow through on the follow up. My hubby had is plastics with skalicky there was supposed to be some follow up, my husband kept calling to schedule, first they told him they were waiting for the proper equipment to arrive at the practice and would call him when it arrived to schedule him for the follow up. This went on for about a year, then my husband would call leave messages no one would call him back.
I believe a few others on here and that go to the Barix support groups used Lam and are extremely pleased with him. We had no contact with Lam - keep in mind just because one doc leaves his patient hanging with promises that never materialized does not mean the other doc's in the practice follow the same practice.

Hi......just wondering why you wouldn't use Skalicky???? I am going to be using his partner Dr. Lam......is there something I should know or worry about??? My surgery for TT and arms is scheduled for March 26th.
Thanks so much,
Kathy
Good Afternoon PA Peeps,
Thought that I would post before the weekend gets here. Have been having a few low days but am working hard to overcome it. Just filed my taxes and was happy to see that I am getting back some much needed money. Just running a few errands today and then getting together with some former colleagues of mine. These 5 women taught with me the first year I was a teacher and we have been getting together for the last 33 years. I think that is pretty awesome. Anyhow tonight is at someone's house where we will share soup, salad, dessert and good conversation. I know that I am pretty lucky to have this group in my life.
Saturday and Sunday will probably deal with housekeeping items in addition to celebrating my youngest nephew's 10th birthday. It is a cutie. Didn't go into school to volunteer this week. Need to get back there next week. Getting out of the house is imperative for my mental health.
Hope that all of you keep warm this weekend. Support those Girl Scouts - even if you don't buy the cookies give a donation. My sister is a troop leader and those women give so much of themselves and receive no kind of renumeration. I was a scout for 10 years as was my niece. It is a great organization that promotes leadership opportunities for girls. I'll get off my soap box for now. As always you guys are awesome. Take care.

Support groups are great, before AND after surgery. Don't be a stranger. Many of us feel we owe the degree of our success to our involvement in receiving and giving support! Barix has groups the 1st Saturday, 2nd Tuesday, and 3rd Wednesday of every month. And, I must say, we are a wonderful group of people. :-) In the meantime, feel free to post on this forum so you can see that others have been where you are!
Blessings, Jill

Sounds like you've got the usual pre-op stuff going on and yes, the pre-op and the early post-op is not fun, but the end result is wonderful. Living life in a manner that you've probably wished for for some time, will be possible, you will feel like you've turned the clock back to an earlier, more active self. . .
Please come to support groups, it helps to have the perspective of others, who by virtue of having gone through what you are going to experience. While we may have supportive family and friends (some don't), unless they've gone through this, they really don't get the various things we experience.
I wish you well on your journey, Dr. Marymor is a wonderful surgeon and well skilled and Barix, well the care you get there is the best.
If you need anything just come here and someone will eventually answer you. If you have any issues post-op that even remotely seem odd, call the number they give you upon discharge, when they give your their number, it's because they care enough to help you get through this.

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen
