Hey Jill,

Once I get my driving privileges on Thursday, I'll be able to start getting to some meetings.  I know where the closest clubhouse is, and will be there on Saturday morning for a meeting.  I also know where other meetings are too.

Hugs,

Trish

Thanks Ida,

I'm thrilled to be here in Michigan.  I get to attend church with my daughter's family, and am over at her house, either babysitting or visiting several times a week.  Right now, I can't drive, so my daughter and the kids take me into town for appointments and shopping.  The town I'm in has a pricey grocery store, so we have to drive 30 minutes away for better prices, as well as any other shopping.

Hugs,

Trish

Hi Jill,

While my food is not totally sugar free, I am living free of bingeing, and somehow still loving the weight.  I am currently not able to exercise, with the broken foot, but I am now living near my daughter and grandchildren, where we will be doing lots of walks and bike rides once the weather warms, and my foot is completely healed.

I've been content to live in the present, and enjoy the freedom that comes with acceptance of where I am, and how my body is right now.

Keep up the good work.

Hugs,

Trish

Kuddos Jill on your healthy way of living.  I get that you want to live in this place, not just visit it.  The way I see it - everytime you come here and stay longer than the last time you are ahead of the game.  The program says that we need to stay in the present and keep on coming back - it works when you work it.  My therapist gave me some good advice one time - when I live in the past it is with regret, when I live in the future it is with anxiety, when I live in the present I am really living.  Just for today you are doing what is right for you, your body and your spirit.  Rejoice and be glad.  Take care.

Hey, Trish, good to see you posting.  You're gonna be missed at the Keys!  Glad all sounds like it going well, though.  Prayers for continued healing, and for fellowship opportunities in your new home!

Blessings, Jill

Topic: An observation

I am on Day 21 of a really good, solid abstinence -- eating on my plan; exercising -- and I note that I do not have to "punish" my body or deprive myself in order to feel good, get good results, and be the healthiest me I can be.  What I am doing now feels comfortable, good and right.  I am back to weighing and measuring my food, logging it in to myfitnesspal.com, turning my food logs into my nutritionist daily, exercising a bit (not as much as I could, but more than I was), staying in touch with my Higher Power.  I would like to live in this place, not just visit it every now and then.  My scale is hidden because it becomes an obsession, and I know that if I weigh and measure what I eat, then I don't have to weigh and measure myself.

Thanks for listening and for being part of my journey.

Blessings, Jill

Thanks Beth,

You know I'm happier near my daughter instead of at my sister's.  You probably saw my posts on Facebook about that ordeal.

I am thrilled to finally be here.

Hugs,

Trish

Thanks Donna,

You can be sure I'll be getting the Phillies games on MLB.TV.  My son lives in Manhattan, and watches them that way, when they're not playing New York.

Thanks again.

Hugs,

Trish

Truleefrea,

I am a firm believer in the saying, "Things happen for a reason"! You may not know the reason right now, but you will in time. Take this time to prepare. If your doctor has you on a pre-surgery diet, DO IT! If not, we all know what foods are not good for us. Start eliminating those foods and practice what you will need to do post op. High protein, low carb, lots of fruits and veggies... exercise!

I was postponed and had to wait three months to have my surgery, but in the end it was for my best interest! I had to get a medical issue straightened out before I could go through with the surgery. Now, I know your situation is a bit different, but I understand your frustration.

I agree with Laureen, you don't want to be too far away from your surgeon just in case there are any issues.

Good luck to you!

Beth
