He hit his pre surgery target weight. He still has the Green with conditions. I hope they change it soon for him for he has been working real hard.
I'm close on mine, 6 lbs more for me.
Soon as we can get our global fee paid, we will meet our surgeons. We still go back each month until then. Next month's appt is scheduled around my knee surgery. ugh.. Getting knee surgery first for me to fix the torn meniscus in left knee. With our taxes to be here any day, we'll get the fees paid. I can't wait.
Today is my 1st day back to work following my surgery. Wow am I tired....but I look great :)
I hope I make it thru the whole day. I am going to give it my best effort. It is hot here, thank goodness for AC! I plan on driving home after work, having a protein drink or bar and sleeping.
Have a great one!

Had an up and down visiting day with Siehara. She still was saying that she wants to come but we have a plan in place to try to help her enjoy the next month.
All I have planned for myself for the day is working for Aetna and doing some cleaning up around the house. I have a bunch of stuff that needs to go over to the Salvation Army and I think I can probably find some more if I put forth enough of an effort.
Nothing else going on here.. just work
Time: 7 p.m. to 8:30/9:00 p.m.
Place: 280 Middletown Boulevard, Langhorne, PA 19047
Format of the meeting this month will be introductions, sharing of sugervisaries, if any, and if your are celebrating one, please bring your props (pictures and/or an item of clothing that used to fit you), as you will have up to 5 minutes to tell us, how life was before surgery, how life has changed since surgery and what your hopes going forward are.
The main focus of this group is post-op related topics and issues and while we welcome everyone to attend, as always, there will be a smaller focus group for those newly post-op and those still exploring their options and therefore you have the choice of sitting in with those further out or the newer post-ops.
We welcome all those seeking support, no matter where you had your surgery, however, while all are welcome to attend our support groups, other services, such as nutritional counseling, are limited to Barix patients only.
Lastly, please remember that some topics, and/or the need for people to feel free to discuss whatever they need to, are not for the ears of young children, so if you need to bring your child(ern), please keep that in mind.
Hope to see you there!

Today finds me at work, after an almost 3 week whirlwind of activity surrounding my granddaughter, Sami. I think she had a very good time and to my daughter's surprise, I actually enjoyed the visit and we only had two teenage flare-ups (lol), to which I let her stew in her silliness and after a bit of time, we discussed the behaviors and being a grandma is much different then being a Mom (lol). . .
So it's back to my life as I know it and this week is already got everything planned for business as usual. . . AA noontime meeting, some food shopping this evening and therefore a little food prep in order, tomorrow evening Tony is coming down for dinner, Wednesday is BARIX and I look forward to seeing everyone, Thursday is my homegroup meeting, Friday I am celebrating 25 years sober by sharing my story at my "adopted" homegroup in Delaware and Saturday, I am heading north, where Tony and I are going to a Mets game and afterwards dinner. . . but back to today, in a little while I have some training to help out with a project here at work. . .
Aww a Bridal Shower, how nice that you are looking forward to your daughter's upcoming nuptials!
Hope everyone enjoys their day and as you said, stay cool and hydrated!

Congrats on your Surgiversary!!!
You are truly someone who I think of as inspirational. As has been noted, you sat in support groups and took notes, you asked the questions that you felt were of value to you and others and you've made choices that are keeping you on the "successing" path. Yes, most of us deviate some as we get into more "normal" living, but my belief and you seem to echo it, is that we pick up and renew our commitment to what we know is going to keep us healthy, because being "thinner" was not my sole purpose in having WLS, it was being healthy and able to live my life fully engaged and that is what we do today and if we forget and make food the main part of our lives again, then what have we learned.
I wish you well as you continue your "successing" in all areas of living, hope that you find the right person for your facial plastics (Arlene's guy is fantastic, but it would require you coming and staying here for a little bit, not even a bruise did she have). . . anyway, I hope you can make it to Barix on Wednesday as I, for one, would welcome the opportunity to see you there!
Kind regards, Laureen

We had a thunderstorm last night, which sent Utley into my arms as usual. I'm calling PetSmart to see if they carry the Thundershirt for him. I've had several people recommend it, and it's cheaper than taking him to the vet to get tranquilizers. Utley is due for a vet visit, but the shot he needs is only required for when he is at the kennel. I'll take care of that in August.
Today has me heading to the surgeon's to get my stitches out, and to get the biopsy results from the surgery I had two weeks ago. In the afternoon, I begin my volunteer work at Pro-Act, in Bristol. Pro-Act is an agency that offers Peer-to-Peer support for people in early recovery for addiction/alcoholism. They offer referrals for recovery houses, job search help, various groups, and social activities to help people in recovery have fun while clean and sober. Volunteering there gives me an opportunity to use my social work skills while giving back to the community.
Gotta scoot.

Tonight - some closet arranging. I know - you can hardly contain your excitement!
Should be a busy work day today. I've met some interesting people the last couple of weeks....a guy who builds tech systems for "safe rooms" for large yachts (impenetrable by pirates/kidnappers), a woman who teaches English to adult refugees (down here mostly Cuban and Hatian), and the author Janet Evanovich. Ya never know who walks through the door at Apple!
