 Good Afternoon Beth and Everyone,
I have had a busy day so far.  Did one load of laundry, and then started organizing and packing for my weekend trip to St. Louis.  My daughter-in-law is performing as Maria in 'The Sound of Music' in a theater there.  She is from the St. Louis area, so we'll get to see her folks.  My son isn't going to be there.  He'll see her another weekend.  They have had an interesting year and a half as it is, because she was in the National Tour of Les Miserables from December 2010 till the end of June.

This afternoon, I'll continue to get organized, and watch the Phillies game.  Then tonight, I'll head over to my sister's to pick up baseball tickets for the Trenton Thunder/Reading Phillies game tomorrow night.  It's a fundraiser she organizes for Special Olympics.  She sells the tickets for $11 a piece, and then Special Olympics gets to keep $5 from each.  Also, volunteers walk around the ball park selling 50/50 tickets.  Sometimes they raise around $300 for Special Olympics just with the 50/50.

I hope everyone is staying well hydrated today.  It's a scorcher out there.

Hugs,
Trish

Gentle morning for me, then doing s few errands in Lancaster This afternoon. Tonight cruising the turnpike to Barix for support. Tomorrow, a day with my sister in law. If the heat eases off we may take the train to Philly for some sightseeing.

Happy Wednesday and please be sure to stay hydrated in this latest heat wave we are experiencing, it's no joke. . .  at 4 years 9 months post-WLS, this is my food plan for this day:

B:  Eggbeater omlet made with peppers from my garden and light swiss cheese

S:  Cherries and half a blueberry muffin :(

L:  Turkey burger with veggie medley

S:  Phillie Soft Pretzel with spicy mustard (must admit, someone brought them in and they are definitely not a staple in my food plan, but irressitble too)

D:  Leftover Chicken and pasta (1/3 cup) from last night's dinner and veggies

S:  Watermelon

Vitamins, calcium supplements and LOTS OF WATER!!!

Have a great day!

Morning Beth, Lisa, PA Friends that have yet to arrive. . .

I am getting my protein and fluids in, but am having big time issues with sleeping at night, which makes me tired, there is a lot going on with my oldest daughter and then I have Roxie girl to deal with, noticed a small hard thing under her skin on her right hind leg and that was about a month ago and it is grown to the size of a peanut in this last month, so tomorrow I have my mobile vet coming to check her out, I am believing on a conscious level it will be ok, but perhaps underneath I am worried, as I do know her breed is subject to certain things, which I will continue to believe are not going to befall her, there are a few other things going on, but I truly believe in the deepest part of me that it will all work out just fine, not so sure my subconscious is with me on this stuff (lol). . .  anyway, I'm here at work, thankfully, in air conditioning, noontime I will walk over to the AA meeting that is my adopted DE home group and after work, well it's 3rd Wednesday, so I'll be up at Barix, hoping to see some friends there!

Wishing everyone a good day, please remember that in this heat especially, get your fluids on board!!!

Hugs, Laureen

Morning Beth and Pa... I was feeling the same last night.  I was ok all day, but when I got to the store, I just felt blah.  I know I'm not eating properly and definitely not getting all my water in.  Bad bad bad in this heat.   Thankfully, I was working with one of the managers who "gets" me.  She knew something was up and asked what was wrong.  I told her I just wasn't feeling like myself.  I worked the best I could and she kept an eye on me to be sure I was.

Started off today with my Click and now I am downing water.  I KNOW I have been seriously slacking off with food and water and with all the working I am doing, it's NOT GOOD.  Planning healthy eating/drinking habits today and have no plans to venture outside, except to pick up 2 more bolts to finish fixing my grill.

Neil is supposed to be coming in today.  He's still job hunting and is going to look around here, too.  He has not limited himself to any particular area so hopefully he'll find something soon.

BTW, Ida, he was not qualified for the jobs that were posted, but will keep looking.  Thanks!

GM PA!!

I figured I would get on bright and early before I leave for work. The summer job has me busy from beginning to end!! Everyday I am a little bit closer to 8/1 which is when the summer program ends!!

So how is everybody doing??? I am doing ok....the last couple of days I have been feeling not quite myself. I think I am not getting enough protein in during the day. This is usually not a problem for me but with this summer job I have NO break time at all, not even for potty!?!?!? Another reason why I will be glad when this is over!!! I think this extreme heat also affects me too...BLECH!!

I am going to try to have a GREAT day!!

Enjoy yours, keep cool and hydrated!

Beth

 Jill,
I have that problem during most meals.  Depending on what it is, I tell myself that I get to enjoy that meal more than once, and save it for the next day.  Last week, my sis-n-law barbecued steaks, and made a terrific salad I had never thought of, and we had some delicious sweet corn on the cob.  I could barely make a dent in any of it, and we packed it up for take home, and wouldn't you know it, I left it at her house.  It was late when I got home and realized my forgetfulness.  The next day, I couldn't get over to her place after she got done work because I had to be in Jersey for the evening.  Darn.

 Jill-
I know exactly how you feel. I just remember 2 sayings to make me feel better:

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels
Better to go to waste then to waist

That usually helps me out. BeIng thin for me means being healthier and frankly being alive. I was dying of diabetic kidney disease and now (well not exactly now because I am recovering from surgery and sick right now) I can do so much more than I even dreamed was possible.
Good luck & stay positive!

Ps: I thought I caught a bug when I went back to work yesterday.  Dr thinks it may be something else. I am to have a bunch of fasting blood work tomorrow. Hope it isn't anything serious. On a positive note, the plastics incisions are healing nicely. Doesn't matter how sick I am - I am loving not having the ab skin:)
