I had Dr Petrick do my surgery and have had no problems. Thank God! I think he's a wonderful surgeon. The main thing is that you should go with the surgeon who you are most comfortable with. My husband has an appointment to have his gall bladder out with Dr Ibele in August, maybe we will see you at one of the appointments..lol

BJs has a $5.00 coupon off of them, but they come in a 3 pack and I'm not sure the price. . .  I will be checking it out when I go. . .

 Thanks Susan...

I heard too many horror stories bout Petrick.  My dad's 2nd wife worked up in the ward, and she told me about how more people had to have extra surgeries and problems from his work.

I'm going to have them take my gallbladder out, too.   I have gallstones and yep, I do have problems with pain there...

Thanks Nicole. . .  very good article, what's best is it gives suggestions on how to accomplish what we want in order to succeed. . .  not very unlike 12 Step recovery process

Topic: Crosspost: Continuing the thought on yesterday's

Did you read yesterday's quote?  (If you don't like your life when you're losing weight you're going to gain it back! --Yoni Freedhoff)

Posted: 24 Jul 2012 02:18 AM PDT

And did you take it to heart??

One of the speeches I routinely give new members to the FC is,

"No matter how technically great of a  training routine I develop for you, if you hate it, you won't do it.  And if you don't do it, you won't get results.  Which means I haven't helped you find the right program."

Great on paper doesn't get results.

Great when it comes to execution does.

Give some thought to the last set of health behavior/weight management changes you made.

Did you hate them (and consequently stop doing them)?

Did you like them well enough but find they didn't really work when you tried to fit them into the larger picture of your life (and consequently stop doing them)?

We've all put the hammer down before and lost weight.....and then gained it back because keepin' the hammer down is too much work!

Isn't it time to stop?  Isn't it time to start trying to figure out when you're physically hungry? Or when you're just eating because you're bored, stressed, or think you should?

Sometimes, I think we're like spoiled kids because we throw a mental fit everytime we want an ice cream but tell ourselves we can't have one.  We whine, cry, moan, mope, and generally are such brats to be around, we end up giving in to the demanding child-self.

It's time to find a better solution -- one you can live with (and, dare I say it.....even like!).

Lisa,

Great idea!!!  and like others have said, there are many. . .

First one was realization I did not have to lift my butt up to put my car seat belt on, along with being able to use a regular bath towel wrapped around my body. . .

Clothing wise, trying on a size 12 cordoury jeans in JCPenney and having them fit, I cried with joy. . .closing out my Lane Bryant and Avenue accounts. . .

Best one that stands out is the wedding I attended of my sister from another Mother's son in December of 2008, where her sister-in-law came by the table we were sitting at to say her goodbyes, she gave me her hand and said, I don't know you, but nice to see you and goodnight. . .  I looked at her and said, Gina, it's me, Laureen, her mouth literally dropped wide open, as she responded I absolutely did not recognize you, you look amazing. . . also at that same wedding, a neighbor of my SFAM at the coffee bar also saying that he spent most of the wedding wondering who was that sitting with Jeanne at the table, until finally he asked his wife and she told him who I was. . .

Then two weeks ago, my son was showing my 14 yo granddaughter pictures from when their old home was being built and there I was, as I used to look, well Lisa, funny thing is, I've been feeling bad about my regain (25 lbs. in total), but when I looked at that picture, I had a new appreciation for how far I've come, the funny thing is I remember thinking how good I looked in that outfit I was wearing in the picture he had. . . so even this far away, I can be WOWed by the fact that I have this amazing life due to WLS and that while, not unlike many of us, I've had some regain, I am using my tool to my benefit and have lost a few of those 25 lbs. that I regained and now hope to lose 16 lbs. to achieve my ideal, for me, weight!

Thanks for making a trip down memory lane enjoyable!!!

You can and will get to where you want to, you have the tool!

Hugs, Laureen

Hi,
Shopping for jeans the first time post-op and fitting in a normal size.  Weighing in before my hernia surgery, and being under 200 pounds.  Not needing a seatbelt adaptor on the airplane.  Best of all, dancing with my son at his wedding, and him telling me I looked beautiful.

I've since had a regain, but I am back to losing again.
