Hello everyone,

Just a reminder that tomorrow evening there will be a support group meeting at Barix with topics specific to post-wls experiences.

The place:  280 Middletown Boulevard, Langhorne, PA 19047
The time:  7:00 p.m. until approximately 8:30 p.m.

If you are celebrating a surgiversary, please bring any props (clothes worn prior to WLS, pictures), you will get 5 minutes to share what it was like, what it is like now and what you look forward to.

We have a nutritionist at every meeting and while all are welcome to attend our support groups, nutritional consults cannot be given to non-Barix patients, but if you feel in need of support we welcome you!

Lastly, we recognize that there are times when babysitting might be an issue, however, we really would appreciate not having small children there, as there are times people have a need to discuss things that having a small child there inhibits their ability to discuss things openly and also the children often are a distraction.  Thank you for your understanding.

Have a great day!

Laureen

Good Morning PA!

It is a cloudy, gray morning but that is ok! I have plenty to keep me busy today!! Laundry, cleaning, some reading and relaxation too!!

Yesterday I spent most of the day with my BFF. We went to the movies to see "The Watch". It was kind of stupid but very funny! Sometimes you just need a laugh! We walked around the mall, had lunch, walked around some more then we went home. All in all a fun day!!!

Not much else going on...

Hope you all have a GREAT day!

Love, Beth

Hi,

Welcome and as for your question, it depends on the insurance provider's requirements, as well as the place you have chosen to have surgery.  Some places move quicker than others, but sometimes insurance companies want 6 months of doctor supervised diet before they will ok the procedure, also there are often various pre-op testings that are required to obtain clearance from the point of surgeon's want to know that you don't have any issues that would cause a problem when you are on the operating table.

Best wishes, since your Mom has done this before you, you have some knowlege of what to expect.

Hi Lois,
The waiting period depends on your insurance.  I was fortunate enough to have my surgery before my insurance company required the waiting period.  The best thing to do is ask your doctor's office about that.  They communicate directly with your insurance company and they can tell you.  Or call your insurance company's customer service directly.

Feel free to ask us any other questions.

Hugs,
Trish

Hello. I just set up my 1st appointment for the information seminar with Dr. Harrison at Lehigh Valley Hospital. My mother had Gastric Bypass 2 years ago at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and I attended every appointment with her. I have tried many diets, been on phentermine numerous times. Is there still a 6 month waiting period for the surgery?

Good Morning Ida and PA,
Ida, I'm so glad you had a good time at the reunion.  How romantic for you and Gene.

Lisa, I'm so glad camp went well for Siehera.  Also, happy you are posting more.

Beth, that mother who came to her own daughter's party late sounds like a piece of work.  She was probably trying to make up for her rude behavior in the first place by trying to act like your BFF.

Prayers for all who need them.

Hugs,
Trish

GM Ida, Lisa and PA!!

I am trying to savor every moment that is left of my summer vacation! Had an interesting weekend. Saturday I took Dee to one of her friends birthday party. It was so bizarre!! First of all, the mom didn't show up until almost 2 hours after the party began!?!? WTF? What mother shows up late to their kids birthday party???? Then she comes in and doesn't even introduce herself to me....hello?? Completely ignores me for the entire party, then as we are leaving she starts talking to me like we are BFFs??? She is telling me her life story and I just want to get out of there!!!! To each his own, I guess?

Yesterday we met up with friends and spent the day together! It was fun, just wi**** could have been longer....isn't that always the way?? I found two back to school outfits for Dee that are really cute!!

Today I am meeting my BFF for a movie and lunch! We are going to see "The Watch". Should be fun!

Ida, sounds like you had a fun weekend!
Lisa, glad to see you posting again!!

Have a great day!

Morning Ida and all.... trying to start off on the right foot by at least posting to roll call.

I picked up Siehara from camp yesterday.  We spent the afternoon relaxing and then we went over to our neighbor's for pizza for dinner.  I took Siehara and the 15 year old neighbor down to Musikfest to walk around for a bit and then watch the fireworks.

Today, I am working both jobs.   Siehara will need to unpack and work on laundry.  Everything needs to be washed to get the "camp funk" out of her clothes.

I'm trying to stay on track with food and water, but already have a carb crash going on... I put some Fiber One cereal into Greek yogurt thinking it was a good choice.  Apparently, not.. lesson learned. So, as my work computer does an update, I laid down for a bit and now here I am posting to roll call.

Hope everyone has a great day! Mine is going to be long.
