Hey Donna,

I just got on and saw you posting roll call!!!

My mom is back at the nursing home, doing the same. She has a couple of dr appointments this week to figure out what is going on with her hand. I am thinking if the people at the hospital couldn't figure it out, WTF?!?! But, whatever!

Keep your spirits up! Something will come up!! Camden is ALWAYS looking for subs. I think they pay $100 a day....just an option!

Donna,

I couldn't agree more!!

Lynn, you are definitely a success story and a good friend! I did something similar the other night, I remember the feeling like crap and I DON'T want to feel that way again! It is nice that our tool reminds us!!

Good Morning PA

Don't anyone faint but yes I am actually posting a roll call.  What a gorgeous day it is.  I can't get over how nice it is to have the air turned off and the windows opened.  My allergies don't always agree with me but it is nice not to feel so claustrophobic.

Am still without a job but have an interview scheduled for a 2 month temporary position in the Elections office of Montgomery County.  That is happening on 8/28.  If that doesn't pan out I guess I will be looking into the possibility of subbing.  Only have 5 more weeks of unemployment remaining so it is getting a little dicey.  Trying hard to keep up my spirits.

Today I am heading over to my youngest sister's new house.  She is having a cookout/birthday celebration for her hubby,  This will be the first time I have been over to the house so I am excited.  Other than that not too much else going on.  Will probably watch the Phillies and pray that they can get a split of the series with the Brewers.

Beth, I hope that your Mom is doing better.  Have a good day everyone and try to get out and enjoy the weather.  Take care.

Lynn,

Cut yourself a break.  At three years out we all have our slips but you came here and posted about it.  It's good to know that your tool is doing what it is supposed to do and now you have a strong physical memory to help avoid this in the future.  Just think what could have happened if you didn't have any reaction.  You might have thought that it wasn't so bad and in a pinch you could do it again.  Take a deep breath and realize that you made a mistake and will think twice about doing it the next time.  Be gentle with yourself - you deserve it.  Take care.

 Actually I DO know better.

But the old habit was staring me down the other day. And I didn't want to cook.

So I ate cereal for dinner. Cereal. In a bowl with milk.

Oh. My. God.

If you ever hear me even THINKING of that again....remind me that I felt like crap, teetered on the edge of a full out dump, and ended up having to sleep it off.

Testing the limits....not a wise move.

Don't stress too much! You are less active because of your surgery. Once you are able to start moving again, the weight will come off!!

Good luck!

Good Afternoon Beth,
Sorry I am so late again.  I also feel for you concerning your mother's health.  That feeling of powerlessness can be so overwhelming, especially when the doctors are not sure what is going on either.  I agree with Laureen concerning our furbabies.  When I got out of the hospital after two weeks there, I was laid up for two months.  Except for doctor's appointments and bloodwork, I didn't leave the house.  Utley was either on my lap, on the floor by my rocking chair, or playing fetch with me.  The only time we were separated when I was home was when I had to lock him in my bedroom so the visiting nurse could change the dressing on my wound.

Today has been busy for me.  I rushed out the door to my AA meeting.  Then, rushed home to pack my lunch.  Since noon, I've been at my volunteer work at the agency.  I'll be out of here in twenty minutes, head home to grab my seat cushion I forgot, and then back out the door to go volunteer at a Congressional candidate's headquarters.  After that, it's home to hopefully watch the Phillies not screw up like they did the last two days.  Darn bullpen gave away both games.

Enough of my rant.  I hope everyone is having a blessed day, and has a super weekend.

Hugs,
Trish

Beth,

Sending you a bunch of cyber hugs, as you need them to help you get through this rough period with your Mom and yes, your furbabies are in tune to giving you extra love through their presence, it's what they do so well. . .  if people were as inclined as our furbabies, it would be a nicer world . . . when I was going through some stuff very recently, Roxie was constantly at my side, or if I was in my emotions, she would go and bring me one of her toys, as if to say, come on Mom, come and play with me, I'll make you laugh and take your mind off of what ails you. . .

Hugs,

Laureen
