Congratulations!  There are fewer ways to feel better instantly than by giving blood!  You know you are doing something important, which may save a life, and that feels wonderful.  On top of that, I always felt this jolt of physical energy...which may just have come from emotional energy, but, either way, it was nice.

I can't give any more, since having Chronic Lyme, and I miss it.  It took me some years to get the courage to give to begin with and I gave a couple times a year after that first time.  Always felt good about it...I hope you do too!

Be very careful, my Dr told me to never give blood again, since. WLS pts have problems with their iron, our bodies do not absorb iron like non WLS people?
it could give u low iron that's what happened to me, I was ti give 2 units of blood for myself, I gave the first unit and my Hgb was only 11 when I came back 2 weeks after to give the 2nd unit they wouldn't take it because my Hgb had not come back up it was only 10, I tried  to get my iron up but it just kept going down down down till I finally needed infusions

Congratulations

This is another example of the WOW moments that WLS has given to all of us.  Not only are you so much healthier for taking this step, now you also help numerous people by donating blood.  May this be the first of many pints of life you give to others while you continue to bask in your continued successing.  Take care.

Topic: Announcing Forum Upgrades!

Its been over six years since we've launched our forums. During this time it has seen thousands of fresh faces, greetings, meetings, partings, arguments, kind words, life transformations, cathartic rants, and simply happy time pass. It has been with us throughout this time, silently observing and facilitating. But like any wise old man, its bones were getting old. Its joints were aching, and it has been needing a new jolt of energy.

A Mobile World
Did you know that over 30% of you visit our website using a mobile device? For those who do visit us via mobile, we owe you a sincere apology, because our forums have been horrendous on a mobile browser. But the big news is that things are about to change! Our new forums are completely mobile friendly and compatible with iPhone, Android, and pretty much any other modern smart phone.

Each post, topic, and forum shows up beautifully, with the full set of features, and in nice large font. See the screenshots for yourself.

You dont have do anything different, just browse to the forums like you normally would. This means that you can finally put these away:

Not Just for Mobile
The interface on your desktop browser has also been cleaned up a great deal. There is now less clutter on the page, and the overall experience is a lot cleaner. Check out some more screenshots here!

You will notice that each post no longer has 400 buttons below it. Only the buttons that are relevant to each post show up, making your screen space a lot less cluttered. Also, when you reply to another person's post, the entire post is indented inside, making it a lot easier to figure out who has replied to whom.

Launching soon! Maybe as early as next week! Maybe.
And do remember that this is not in any way a be-all-end-all when it comes to the forums. We are in the process of constantly learning and improving upon what we have, and this is just one step along the way.

Stay tuned for the changes! We look forward to hearing your thoughts on this.

I donated blood for the first time - I know I am old(er) and should have done it before - when my friend asked why I did it now I think it was because I am no longer ashamed of telling someone my weight! <br />

Good Evening!

First day back to work.  Exhausted.

Applied for a new job that is posted - not sure if I really want it, it never hurts to interview.  It's been 7 years since I've interviewed.

Hope you all had a great day...

Ida

Hi Beth,
My day is not going as planned.  I had to take my car to the shop for repairs from being rear ended right before Labor Day weekend.  Enterprise picked me up on time, but did not have the car they were going to rent to me.  I had to go home, and wait for them to bring me the car.  It was supposed to be here in time for me to get to my volunteer work, and it was late.  So, I was late to my volunteer work, causing me to miss a meeting of the volunteers.  I was pissed, which doesn't happen too much these days.  Anyway, I had to take care of two of the things right after my volunteer job.  I came home and put dinner in the oven.  At 7:00, I am heading to volunteer at Kathy Boockvar's office.  She is running for Congress against Mike Fitzpatrick.

The Phillies are playing right now, and it is scoreless in the fifth inning.

Hope you had a blessed day.

Hugs,
Trish
