Hi Lisa and PA,
This morning I was crazy busy with labwork, three doctors' appointments and multiple phone calls, before I came to relax at my volunteer job.  After this, I head home, eat supper, and then back out the door to do election campaign work for a few hours.

After that, I have to speak with my AA sponsee, and then get to bed.

I have been thinking of, and praying for Beth.  I hope she is doing okay with what's going on there.

Have a blessed rest of the day.

Hugs,
Trish

Morning all....

so last night we went to the diner to break our fast. I got eggs, hash browns and rye toast.. then proceeded to enter a carb coma and it went downhill from there.. I couldn't seem to stop eating.. :( It wasn't anything necessarily "bad", but I didn't need the food. Don't even need to try to remember what I ate, but I do know that I am NOT going to let yesterday dictate what I do now.   I was on track for a full week and lost 8.2 lbs!!! I updated my tracker down below to reflect my "new start".  That will help me to maintain focus.

New day today: volunteering for the United Way Day or Caring painting at one of the sites of the day care where Siehara went between ages 1 and 5. The info we received says they are providing breakfast and lunch. That tells me it will be something like bagels or donuts for breakfast and pizza for lunch. That also means that I will be bringing protein shakes to keep me on track where I've been for the past week.

I'm Click'en now and will bring lots of water and a shake for lunch. We should be finished there around 3, so I'll come home and shower and have another shake before I head to Dress Barn for a few hours tonight. We are having a group of women come in from the local chamber of commerce to run a workshop for women who are trying to get out into the workforce. We have been collecting clothes for a few weeks and will give them to these women. They will also go over interviewing skills, as well as dressing for success, makeup application and other important skills to get out into the workforce. As much as I hate that I HAVE to work a second job, it makes me feel good that I work for such a company that really gives back in so many ways! I'm looking forward to going in tonight "looking the part" and helping to give confidence to these women.

What are you all doing today?

Congrats Izabelle,

Any weight loss prior to surgery is a plus.  Nothing about weight loss is ever easy.  There are
alot of stigmas and fears attatched to Heavy people. We are (however) overcomers, and the days ahead will be less burdensome if we rely on eachother for a collective strength.  I am ready for change in a positive sense as opposed to the life I've been existing under.  I'm sure you can agree. Especially in ultimately winning the battle with weight. I'm in it with you sis.

                                                                                      Many blessings,

Hi Deanna and welcome! I live in Hamburg, PA which is east of you and a bit far but it is good to meet other people from PA no matter where they live.

I am 9 weeks post-op and remember my long journey before I had the surgery. Insurance problems etc kept pushing it back but if its something you really are set on having, you will get there, just hang in. I wish I would have done more research on the whole process that way I would not have had so many questions or surprises afterwards but it seems you have done your homework and I think things will turn out well.

I have a daughter with learning disorders so I understand when you speak of the kids. I think you are wise to know that you must start taking care of yourself and get healthy to be able to care for your family. If you are weak or sick....then what happens to your family?...

Please ask any questions, there are so many people here who have been through a ton of stuff and someone will have the answers for you!!

Best of luck to you!!!

I am definitely having my surgery on Oct. 15th. The weight loss so far is just the watching everything and preop. I am hoping it makes it easier to deal with the new lifestyle if I start it now.

Good luck to you through your process.

Greetings Laureen and PA,
I am at my regular volunteer job.  I had physical therapy this morning.  I am not as good at doing my daily exercises as I'm supposed to be, so I have to get that improved.

After this job, I'm heading to do campaign work for two hours.

Nothing super exciting.  I will get to an AA meeting tomorrow morning.  Today's schedule did not permit it.

Hugs,
Trish

Happy Birthday Beth,
I know that this is probably not going to be a very good birthday.  I've had two such birthdays.  Both my father and baby brother died in the month of October, different years.  Their's were sudden, and my birthday immediately followed their passing.

But, also know this, your Mom is loved by God, and in my prayers.  Same goes for you.  You are loved by God, and in my prayers.

Hugs,
Trish
