Anyone out there battling The Horrific Kidney Stone™? I had a history of severe UTIs and stones prior to surgery, and now the RnY has compounded the problem. Today I saw a nephrologist, who, in addition to medications, has also put me on a low-oxilate diet. This would be fine except that many foods that are high in oxilate are the things we should eat, and the foods low in oxilate are things that we can't touch.
Maybe it is just me, but I just look at this diet plan and shake my head. I mean, I am almost 3.5 years post-op, and now I am being given a diet that says that tofu is bad for me....that having Cocoa Puffs for breakfast is ok, but Shredded Wheat is bad....and eating almonds is horrible, but go ahead and have some ice cream!
