I am 4 years post op (bPD-DS) and have severely low A and D. My endocrinologist recommended a vitamin d sun lamp but I have no idea what to get, there are so many options. Has anyone gotten one to help that they would recommend?

Also, any suggestions for boosting the vitamin A?

Thanks!

Hi Laura,

I have not had the same type of surgery and know that yours is one with more possible deficiencies.  I would google the sun lamp, maybe try Amazon, as they always have great prices and lots of reviews on products so you can get an idea of what is good and what is not.  As for the vitamin A, I'd say do some research on foods that are high in it and/or maybe see if you can find a liquid supplement, as liquid supplements are more quickly and better absorbed by those of us who have had any of the mal-absorption surgical procedures.

I wish you well and hope you find the answers you need.
