OT- GREAT NEWS!!!!

I have some GREAT news!!!

We found out yesterday that Steven got a new position with Comcast. This is a HUGE deal and I will tell you why!!! First of all, he has done over 100 postings for new positions, had over 30 interviews and has been turned down time and time again. This has been going on for 5 YEARS!! Needless to say, he has been a real pain in the ass to deal with! I have tried to be understanding and supportive, but it has taken it's toll on me! I told him last night that I must REALLY love him to have stayed through all the turmoil!

With this new position he will be 15 minutes from home, work M-F 9-5(I think) with maybe some OT on Saturdays. He will not be on the phones having customers yelling at him for 8 hours a day like he has for the past five years. Being in a call center is probably one of the WORST jobs anyone can have! His health has suffered because of it. He has HBP and also has ulcerative colitis. I am hoping that these ailments will subside once he begins this new job.

I am so proud of him for his perserverence!

     I am so happy for you and Steven.  You have often shared how stressful his job was and that sometimes you bore the brunt of that.  May this be indicative of good things to come in 2012.  Sorry that you weren't at Barix last night - lots of faces from our time there.  Hopefully I will be at meeting for 1st Sat. in Feb.  Thanx for sharing your good news.  Take care.

I know you've had some real challenges with Steven's job situation and I am thrilled for you, but I'm sure he is more thrilled than any of us (lol). . .  as I work the front desk at a law firm and there are times (notifications get sent out to like 300,000 people) and I have to handle a barrage of telephone calls from irate customers of companies that are in a Chapter 11 proceeding, whereby in some instances they are being charged for services they are no longer receiving, or worried about their pensions, etc., and most, while justifiably upset and nice about things, and then there are those who think it's ok to beat up on me, so while I understand their situations, I so get what your husband has to go through, I really get it. . .

Anyway, here's to wishing you happier, more contented days ahead via your husband's betterment on the job!!!
