Good Morning Pa,
Been awake since 3am, I will be sorry about that later today.  Snacks and Lunches are packed along with lots of water.  We are in Tn. and will be at Splash Country most of this week if the soaring temps are any indication of what is to come.  Who will get tired first, the 8 and 6 y.o. grands or me?  Just need to make sure we eat and drink enough, we have only been here one day and my weight is dropping, I fight to keep it up, but the heat makes it difficult.
 Nan you are in my thoughts and prayers daily.  Ida hope things are calming down with the house and the GC.   Have a good day all stay cool and hydrated.

Morning Pa and Ena. Stay hydrated and have some fun. I was talking to Jason about Going to Tennessee for a trip and he said Why would anyone want to go to TN? He of course is English and just thinks that everyone in TN sings country music LOL. Perhaps you could give me some advice on places to steer him to.

Last night I spent with a friend doing crafty wedding things for her wedding Saturday. That was nice. Of course I came home to find all kinds of drama happening with my family, Too long a story. But basically my sister is allowing my niece to live with her BF in Raleigh instead of living with her. My sister in her infinate wisdom decided to take a job in Raleigh and to live with her BFF and come home on weekends. Now they have decided to let there home go into foreclosure, so my niece and her husband now have to get out of their goldsboro home and move to raleigh. so my sister decided that it would be better if she and Tom live with her friend and she asked my nieces 25 yo BF if she coudl live with him and he agreed. WTF??? This child has so many health issues, and MH issues that are rampant. She has never had a job in her life, and is trying to go to community college. WHY WOULD ANYONE THINK THIS IS A GOOD IDEA??
She does because it gets her out of her hair. I sincerely want nothing to do with my sister this is the straw. The crusie being canceled is a blessing.

Sorry to air that here there is just no where I can talk about this really.

Today I have work, then Jason and I are going to my therapist for a talk and then we will go to dinner. I hope you all have a nice day and know you are loved and thought of.

Nicole as I've found with my dad and my brother, sometimes you just have to walk away for your own sanity.  It doens't mean that you don't care by any stretch of the imagination.  I care more than my dad and brother will ever know, they are incapable and I have to accept that.
Hope you are able to find peace with this, I know it's tough, I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers :-)

Tennessee is BEAUTIFUL! That is why Jason should visit. LOL

On another note.........Let the drama go. Move on. Just because it's family doesn't mean you HAVE TO deal with it! I've learned that the hard way!

Love ya!

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Good Morning Ena & PA;

Ena - no things are not calming down.  We had a meeting scheduled with the GC for yesterday, Gene and I both arranged our schedules to be at the house - of course my hurting back helped with keeping me home.  The GC and his crew never showed up at the house.  He is passive aggressive when things are not going as HE WANTS them to go.  The siding guys were at the house, the siding and the outside of the house is beautiful.  A lot of people were stopping as they were driving by tellng the foreman and other guys how beautiful it looks.  A couple women stopped and told him it was cute he asked them if they ment him or the house - in my opinion him and the house!  So the saga with the house continues.

The gas company came yesterday to install the meter, and could not because the GC's plumbers buried metal pipe in the ground.  In Philly you can no longer use or bury metal pipe because it eventually rots so it must be plastic if it is underground.  So that is now stalled and the heater/water heater was not ready for the installation either and this is after the GC told Gene last week that it was and to call the gas company and arrange for this.   So sorry about going on about this.

Today my back feels a bit better, not totally healed yet, so no heels for awhile I'll be wearing flats for the next week or so.  I'm not used to flats anymore!!!!!!

I'm working till 4 then home to sit with my heating pad.  And go to sleep early since I was out late last evening.

Last night my new class started, teacher is okay so far.  He keeps us until 10pm so that is going to be tough on MOnday's and he also holds our every other Friday classes on campus rather than on blackboard so going to campus  on Friday is not something we are used to but this is how he runs the class so Friday nights I'll be out till 10pm rather than catching up on sleep.  Friday is usually my night that I fall asleep by 6-7 pm and sleep through the night.

Hope everyone has a great day....

Ida - did you fall or do something to hurt your back? Or could it be the stress of the house renovation? I know when I'm really stressed about something it tends to manifest itself in different parts of my body as pain. When my daughter and I were first reunited it was extremely stressful, and I started suffering unbearable pain in my jaw - regular dentist thought it was TMJ and send me to an orthodontist - who also thought it was TMJ but then sent me to another mouth specialist - he examined me, measured things, etc., then sat back and looked at me and said 'Are you under a lot of stress right now?' - OH YEAH - I teared up and said yes - he said this is nothing but stress - he said my jaw muscles were so tight he could barely move them!! So he gave me exercises to do along with icing and heating and eventually it settled down. Same thing happened after my one knee surgery - it just wouldn't heal properly, and as soon as some stress went away so did the pain and I recovered just fine.

Sorry if this long-winded dissertation doesn't apply and god knows I'm no doctor, but from reading your posts we can tell how stressful this has been for you, and it got me wondering if a lot of your back pain might be from stress, and maybe a good massage or weekend away from it would be beneficial??

Take care...hope you feel better soon - Kathy

Kathy;
The back I actually hurt on Saturday.  After we picked up the Harley, we had to move some stuff in the garage to get the baby in there.  I went to pick up a little bag of morter - well that little bag of morter caused me not to be able to move on Sunday.

Yes you are absolutely correct about stress affecting other parts of my body.  I have constant pain in my upper back and neck I know that is stress I've always had that when stress is at the max level for me.  And now my pouch acts up as well, my pouch goes into knots when I'm stressed.  I have to be very cautious to calm me down so I can eat and drink, there are some days that the littlest bit of water sets me off and into knots.

This will pass.  It is just so aggrivating the GC and his crap.  I have books and papers packed out in the shed that I need for my graduate project, this class I'm starting I have an entire folder that I need for the class and have no way to get to it.  So I have to do my best and if need be re -purchase books and things that I know I already have but need, can't put it off any longer.

Sorry this got so long.  I know I put a lot on Gene venting to him and am very thankful that I can give him a break by coming here and knowing I'm safe with you all :-)

Thank you Kathy;
Unfortunately I do not see this nightmare ending anytime soon.  The GC walked off the job again....The siding guys ran out of material which seems to be the norm with what the GC orders for the job, nothing that is started is completed on this house - sooo damn frustrating....

HI everyone,

Nic it is so hard to distance yourself from family drama, even when there is a physical distance there. When things get to be too much for me I just shut down from all of it and say the Serenity Prayer. People do make their own choices - what they don't always see is that they do not get to choose the consequences of those choices. Keep your focus where it needs to be.
 What's the saying? Keep Calm and Carry On.

Ina, I cannot BELIEVE a Friday night class till 10. EVER. I've taken a truckload of classes, but never ran into that one. He must have a problem getting space to meet....or something!

It's fairly calm out here today - looks like a gorgeous day ahead, even if it is hot. Believe it or not I am still dealing with my broken washer. This is a whole separate story but I am waiting until we get some resolution from the owner of the company before I tell it. But stay tuned - you won't believe it.

Anyway, I sorted laundry and may be headed to the laundromat later on. Have work to do, a hair trim, and want to get to the gym for a class and/or pool time before it's all done. Have a good one, folks!
