Getting in the RIGHT mindset

Good Day PA!

I wanted to write this post because I think many of us have been struggling with staying on track with our program. I am DEFINITELY one of them! Over the past year, I have not been in the right mindset, not eating right, barely any exercise which showed up on the scale! Clothes fitting tighter (or not fitting at all) and just not feeling good. Over the past couple of weeks I have been getting myself on the right track....eating better and exercising. I went to the doctor today and I lost 5lbs since I last saw her a month ago!! YEAH ME! Now that I am not working I have NO excuse for not focusing! I have also returned to my therapist which I think is also helping. I still have a lot of weight to lose but I am NOT giving up on my goal!!

I hope in some small way this helps those of you who are out there struggling. The saying is true, the tool works if YOU work it!!!

Love to all, Beth

I've learned so much in the past few months while trying to get back on track, doing it, falling, getting back up, etc.  This tool does work for me in many ways:  I do not absorb all the calories I eat; I feel full on a lot less food than I used to; I rarely experience true stomach hunger; and I get sick if I eat sugar or if I just eat too much food at one time.  I count all those as blessings.

I have also learned that my tool doesn't work itself!  I have to plug in somewhere for support and renewed energy.  I have to use other tools along with it, like a plan of eating; journaling; and support groups.

Yay, Beth!  I also lost 5 pounds last month, but, of course, I wanted it to be 25!  I have to learn patience and acceptance.  I also have to learn the difference between successing and failing!  Clearly, I am mostly successing!

Again, I am so glad for this community which has been here from my first thoughts of surgery until now.  I appreciate everyone here and look forward to seeing some of you on Saturday.

Blessings, Jill

You might like this little mantra from a dear friend who is a personal and execute coach: PROGRESS IS MOTIVATION!

Great work on the 5 lbs. But remember you measure your progress in many ways, and I am so proud of you for kicking the exercise into gear!
