Hi Sara,
I am so happy to hear that your son is a volunteer with Special Olympics.  I am a volunteer, fundraising mostly.  My nephew is an athlete, and he does so well with it.

So sorry to hear about the struggles your son is having at school.  My son had problems in public school, so I found a small private school where he was in a graduating class of 9 students.  He thrived in that setting, and is doing okay as a young adult, but still has his bumps in the road emotionally.

Hope things improve for both of our sons.

Hugs,
Trish

I emailed the school officials last night.  It is 11:30 a.m. and I have not heard a thing..and most likely will not.  I told my son the next time anything happens (and I know it will) he is to go to the phone in the school office and call 911, then me at work.  I have had it with the school system doing nothing.  Hopefully if 911 dispatches a call someone will do something.  At least it would be in the paper and someone would have to answer some questions...LIke why he has been bullied all year and attacked and nothing was ever done to prevent or stop the attacks.  Teachers knew of the attacks yesterday and no one took him to the office, nurses office or to the on-site police officer.  I am livid over the lip service they give to their "zero tolerance policy".  By the time i saw him there were no marks on his body.  If there were I would have taken him to the ER and called 911 myself.  Thanks for all of your care, concern and support.  You guys are the BEST!

Sara

One of my friends has recently had the same problem with her son in school.  She took it as far as the superintendent and was still getting the run around 3 weeks after the fact.  So she has filed a police report and is handling it that way now.  She told both the principal and the superintendent that if they continued to bru**** under the rug she have to go to the police, apparently they did not believe her and are now rushing to address the situation that happened almost 2 months ago now.

Her son has applied and been accepted to a school down the Jersey shore that specializes in kids that want to be marine biologists.  He is so happy that next September he will no longer be in his present school.

Thanks Ida.  Caleb is a very mature 12 year-old boy.  His dad & I discussed all the possibilities with him.  He has chosen to stay at this middle school for now.  I pray it is all over now.  Thanks again.

Good morning all and it is so wonderful to see you posting regularly again Miss Pam!! I did read your May 1st post and loved it, and feel much the same way. I went out yesterday and bought adjustable ankle & wrist weights - also looked at some of the Wii fit stuff that I'm going to start purchasing. I keep hoping the weather will get me out of this miserable funk I've been in with exercise and eating.

I'm at work - updated the news on my nephew in a different post - he should be home today - hopefully it won't take him too long to see an allergist and ENT.

Tonight is laundry and straightening up the guest bed & bathroom after my sister left. Not too much on my agenda today.

Hope everyone has a great day - supposed to be 80 today? WOO-HOO!!

Kathy

Good morning Pam and PA!!!

I will be working until 3:30 today then heading home to eat dinner real quick so I can get my son to his baseball game by 5:00.  Staying there until 7:00 ish and then home to try to get a work out in.  tonight is Aerobics, p90x style.  I like it... makes me sweat!  After that it will be about time to put the children to bed and maybe get an hour of relaxing time in front of the T.V..  Tomorrow I will be leaving work early to go meet with the insurance adjuster for my motorcycle.  Long story short the wind caused it to fall over on Saturday and it got a little banged up.  The good news is that I have never filed a claim with them before (4 years) so my deductible will be zero!  I hope it goes well.  I wouldnt want to have to resort to bodily harm with the insurance man.  Wish him luck lol!

Good Morning Pam and PA,
So good to see you posting here for Roll Call.  I must have missed your cakes on FB.  I will have to go back and look.

I have a pretty down day planned.  I will be hitting an AA meeting later on, and then watching the Phillies this afternoon.  Not sure what tonight holds..depends on the foot.  It has been bothering more in a weird way these past few days.

Of course, walking Utley, and dodging the potential thunderstorms will be part of my day as well.  I still have to work on that baby blanket as well.  It is going slower than I like.  I may have to give it to the kid for college...LOL

Hugs,
Trish

Trish, I started a quilt project - my first ever - last summer for my granddaughter. And yes, she may get it for her college graduation, even though it is the simplest thing in the world! I just don't have time for long term projects in my life right now. I do much better with the quickies!

Good Morning Pam and PA!!

Glad to see you posting on a more regular basis! Don't be a stranger!!

Last night we went roller skating. It was Dee's first time, Steven and I haven't been on skates in DECADES! He got out there right away, while I had to find my footing first. Thank goodness it wasn't as crowded as I thought it was going to be. The first time around I held onto the wall, then the second time around I went without holding onto the wall, with only a few times where I lost my balance. Then Steven and I skated together while Dee skated on the carpet. I didn't want to pressure her and I was happy that she was willing to skate at all!! We went around a couple more times. I did not realize HOW much of a workout roller skating was!! I got my cardio in, YEAH! Then we were able to get Dee out on to the skating floor while we held her hand. She fell and landed on her butt and I fell landing on my knee. Then we went around again and Steven fell and hit the back of his head, glasses flying, cell phone flying. I was really expecting to see blood, but luckily no blood! The workers there were very accomodating and gave him ice and fixed his glasses. His cell phone was not damaged thanks to his OTTERBOX case! I will be getting one of those when I get my new iPhone...Of course he is being a man about it and didn't want to go to the ER or call the doctor. I will keep an eye on him and make sure he is ok.

Today is wor****il 3:30 then home for a bit, pick up the child, dinner, then Barix for some much needed support and friendship! Maybe a little SF custard afterwards...mmmm!! Anyone want to come with??? Steffi?? It IS Kosher for passover, right??

Have a great day!
Love to all, Beth
