1st step taken....now i am scared and confused

Yesterday I went in for my ultrasound of my gallbladder and an egd.....doc found gastritis, esophagitis and some antral ulcers.....started me on Protonix 40 mg once a day.  Does anybody think that this will hinder my surgery in any way and what can I do in addition to the  meds to help....i.e. diet

I would ask your doctor and surgeon...Good luck with that!

I would imagine it could because of the nature of the surgery. I would ask your surgeon ASAP

thanks guys....just got a call from the weight loss center and was told that my surgeon was leaving the practice next week.....holy cow...this day just keeps getting better.....i mean i just saw him yesterday when he performed my egd...you would think that he could have told me then?  dont know what to think...so sad :(

Hang in there...there are plenty of terrific surgeons who will care for you the way this one did.  You will get through this.
