Day 8 at the hospital and still...
Swede,
Thank you for the words of encouragement and this means a lot to me. Who else would know this better than you my friend? I agree not knowing the answers is the most fursterating part. I agree this too shall pass and I am using my friends and family to get me thru this. Thanks for the hugs and prayers...

Shilpa, have they now brought in an infectious disease dr? Checked for mono? epstein barr? even hodgkins? I was in a stressed out period in my life a few years back with personal stuff and here I was walking around with fevers and mono for a couple months and yeah, I felt a little off, but I couldn't pinpoint anything because quite frankly (like you) I was soo into fixing everyone and everything around me I was just plowing through life. Then, my right arm went numb and within 24 hours was paralyzed and my WBC starting rising pretty fast. Took a whole slew of docs about a week, eliminating things one by one until they were calling for a bone biopsy and I was freaking out. An infectious disease doc happened by last ditch....whammo, diagnosed me in a half hour, ran the tests to confirm and all was good. Once they hit on it, you'll be good to go. I do know the frustrations you are feeling now though. Hang in, we've all got you in our prayers and thoughts. Nan's got a great idea. I say we all "party" at Jaipur when you get out.

Jackie,
You are so on for Jaipur party! LOL. An infectious disease doctor is on board since day one. I am now on Neupogin to bring up my WBC and Procrit to bring up my iron. MY WBC levels were in such dumps that they were afraid that I would have to be isolated away from all the sick people. I am still spiking a fever but my bone marrow is looking good according to the hematologist and he advised the infectious disease doctor to stop the IV antibiotics as sometimes antibiotics bring on fevers. As of 30 minutes ago I was still spiking 101 degree fever. My admitting Nephrologist doctor came in but because my labs were so off and I am spiking a fever they want to keep me for another 24 hours for observation. They might let me out of here tomorrow. I have heard that before. Anyway I was also tested this morning for a complete Lupus panel. Scary stuff and especially the cardiology scope I had to go thru this morning. I am so sorry that I am just keep complaining I know people have it worse than me Jackie. I think that the fact I have not seen my kids in 8 days is killing me. Slowly but surely....

Oh, that's so frustrating Shilpa, I feel your pain. Lupus is scary but manageable. There are so many auto immune/virus things out there nowadays it's mind boggling or is it that they've made such advances they now have more labels that scare us than they did 25 years ago?? Well, I certainly HOPE for your sake they give it it's name and send it on it's merry way so you can get home to the kids. Will keep checking back to see how you are.... Hugs,
Jackie J.

Jackie,
Thank you for your words of encouragement. They seem to want to keep me another 24 hours for observation and then take the temperature (charting) at home and keep a log of it. I am hoping to bust out of here by tomorrow. They do not expect the Lupus result to come in until tomorrow. Thanks for the hugs and the prayers...
