acid attacks

 Has anybody had these nasty acid attacks in the middle of the night.Over the summer i have had 3  bouts,and every time i have aspirated and gotten pneumonia.
Very discourged by this help

Maybe you should check with Dr. P about this.  I haven't had acid in the middle of the night since before my wls.  Are you laying down shortly after eating?  Eating too much?  Dr. P would be your best bet to figure out what's going on.

yes goinng to see her on th 26th.do you think this would be considered a form of dumping.thanks for responding.

If you haven't eaten RIGHT before going to bed and you're having this problem, you should check with Dr. P sooner rather than later - it could be the sign of something more serious.  I wouldn't wait until the 26th, personally...

I wouldn't think it's dumping, but I really don't know. I'm with Karen---I wouldn't wait till the 26th to see Dr. P. I would explain what's going on and see if they can get you in sooner.

After 2.5 years out I still dump occasionally and I can tell you it's nothing like you're experiencing, and I haven't had one incident of acid reflux since my WLS either, so I will back up what the others are saying and call Barix ASAP, explain to them what is going on and ask to see Dr P sooner than the 28th.

Please call Dr. Pupkova ASAP. I guarantee you that she'd want to know about it, and will most likely want you to see a gastro doc right away. I had problems with reflux post-op and she was VERY concerned about me.

Could it be too much coffee or tea ?  I was hooked on McD's iced coffee sf of course and OMG after a bit of time my body said whoa hold off on that coffee and had to switch to water and 1% milk and such so it could be that or have you started taking any new meds?  I can remember after addressing my heart issues after having three stents put in I was prescribed something which caused me to have a horrible cough and when I touched base with my cardio he said yep it was a side effect well duh what the hell switch me to something else!  So I see three possibilities or you could be eatting too late or something too heavy or spicy?  Good luck with trying to find out what it is and hope you feel better.
