Another Rainy Work-Out Day

OK, sorry for the sad subject line but it was the best I could come up with in this dreary weather!

I was up and on the bike - 6.5 miles this morning - lots of sweat and huffing and puffing. Had hoped to start incorporating my handweights again by now but ortho doc said no until I was done with PT and he saw me again, so for now it'll just be the bike, and the treadmill maybe this weekend - hubby PROMISED to try and fix it Friday, so we'll see. But for now I'm getting a pretty good work-out on the bike and increasing my distance every day.

So who else is up and at it this miserable morning??

Hey Kathy,

Looks like the weather might be keeping everyone on their couches today :o)

I just finished a 3 mile interval run on the treadmill during lunch.

I'll be working out later..

While Siehara is in Hebrew School, I plan to go to the Bethlehem location and get on the treadmill to do my First Strides homework.   Then, after I will go to Whitehall for Pilates.

So, I went to the gym and got on the treadmill.  I decided to do a whole 5K and see what kind of time I could get.  I started with a 5 minute warm-up just like we do in class.  I didn't time my hard vs easy, I just did as much jogging as I could and then went to a hard walk in between.

I completed the 5K in 48:18.  Not bad.. I know that it is different on a treadmill than it is outside and I honestly feel that I will have a better time when I do it outside.  But, I am happy with the result and with the fact that I actually completed the whole thing.  I set the treadmill to 5K loop and just adjusted my speeds on my own.

After that, I stretched and then went to pick Siehara up from Hebrew School.  From there, I went to the Gold's in Whitehall and did some ab work and then more ab work in Pilates class.   I could tell that I haven't been there in awhile, but I feel really good now!

It felt so good to get back into the gym and get in a great workout!

Hi Kathy!

Thanks for starting the exercise thread today.

Much like most other days, I did a (surprise) hour on the elliptical this morning before going to work.

Think I'm going to break out my ankle weights again soon. Feeling pretty much back into the swing of things.

Being able to start the thread is my incentive to get my lazy butt up and moving now in the morning - so far it's working pretty good! And I honestly feel better all day for it, and am not falling asleep in front of the tube at night.

This weather is draining me right now, but the exercise helps.

This is my favorite sleeping time of the year. Windows open, piping the room full of cold air, while snuggled in under flannel sheets and a bedspread.

I have to fight myself out of bed every morning. Especially when I have Mary and the cat sleeping on top of me trying to suck away all my body heat.

Back to commit to be tortured tonight... he REALLY killed us last night with cardio circuit weight training... basically, added a cardio component to an already--tough weight circuit workout.  We were all dead by the end of it and i'm hurting today.  Just can't wait to see what he has in store for us tonight.
