Has anyone walked back down the aisle in a smaller dress?

I have thought about it too! We just celebrated our 5th anniversary in April. I would love to do it for our 10 year. My wedding dress was a size 32. I had to go to a specialty store to get it. I was able to wear it off the rack but I was dreadfully uncomfortable. I look at our wedding pictures and it doesn't even look like me. I know that sounds wierd because of course it IS me, but you understand!

And yes, like others have mentioned you can rent dresses but David Bridal does their $99 dress sale a few times a year and you can find lots of dresses on craigslist and in consignment shops. I have mine saved and hope to make things out of it for Amelia's wedding. My ringbearer pillows (I had 2) were made from my Mom and Chris' Mom's dresses.

Hi Maura -
Of course to most of the married women on here I'm sure this certainly does NOT sound silly, especially after all you've been through.
I personally chose to get married at my local courthouse with a small group of people because I currently don't like being around lots of people, and hate being the center of attention.  I'm more of a sit back and watch kind of gal, lol.
I would love to be able to wear a beautiful gown someday.  I have an appt. with Dr. Pupkova this coming Tuesday and if all goes well, maybe I'll get to fulfill that fantasy for my husband and I's 10th anniversary.  We keep talking about doing a vow renewal in a more elegant fashion than when we first got married.

Good luck to you...

PS.  I'm sure you can rent a gown now a days

Peace & Blessings... Kelly

Joe and I were married 10 years this year.  Should have done it.  I actually had lost weight when we were married and managed an 18W.  What a difference a 6 or 8 would be . . .

maybe 15 or 20 . . . .

104 lbs lost now Maintenance BABY!!!!

For my first marriage.....I wore an off white dress of the rack at Fashion Bug plus that cost about 20 bucks. (1997)

Next month, when I marry my sweet Johnny, it will be in a georgous dress that is 10 times smaller! Yay!

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

I bought a dress at Fashion Bug for my wedding, too.  I got married in November and got it off the clearance rack.  It could not have been more than $30 and is a size 24.  I didn't want to spend the outrageous amount of money on a wedding dress at the time.  The dress is hanging in my closet for some strange reason.

Plus when I had gone into bridal shops and got ignored, that made me not want to give them any business.  Of course, at the time, I thought--and may have been right or wrong-- that they didn't give me the time of day because they didn't carry my size.
