9 month progress report
Saw Doctor P today (love her!!!) - She said she is proud of me and that makes me happy. Am at 84% of excess weight lost , but am still overweight per the stupid bmi chart.. ugh. Levels are all good and am actually cutting back to only take iron, B1 & B12 every other day (yipee)
The only compliant i have is pain that I have been having in my chest (don't worry, not THAT kind of pain) - more like something going on with nerves, kind of like a stabbing electrical pain - strange to describe - only when I am unsupported or bounce. Have already been to my primary about it too. Doctor P said I should follow up with the breast surgeon (same one I went to for second opinion when I found the lump) and maybe a plastics doctor. Anyone ever heard of this type of pain?
p.s. - I can't believe it is 9 months already!!

You go girl!!! I am proud of you too. Sounds like you are working your tool, and doing all the right things.
The pain is something I am unfamiliar with, except what you describe sounds similar to what a friend with fibromyalgia described, except her pain was all over, not just in one place. It’s good to follow-up with the breast surgeon, and follow your doctor’s advice.
Hugs,
Trish

WOW for you!!! Fantastic! You are doing an amazing, wonderful job with your tool - much continued success!
Not to be too personal but have you lost mass from your breasts? Are they sagging or droopy now? Just the weight of being unsupported by a lot of tissue could be causing you the pain? The only time I go without support is in bed now - not that I ever ran around bra-less, but when I was bigger mine were huge and full so if it was just hubby and I around the house and I KNEW nobody was coming I would, but no longer - its just too uncomfortable.
But check it out to make sure it's nothing more serious than that.

I have lost a lot of mass there. I am even wearing a bra to bed because it hurts and hhiking the straps of my bra up quite a bit so that they aren't low riders.. ugh.. I have been to my primary and to a breast surgeon when it started on the right side and for a lump that I found on the right. Thank god the lump turned out to be just fibrous tissue - we had chalked the pain up to maybe a pulled muscle.. but now, it is on the left side too - less pain on the right and the left has taken over.... will schedule another follow up... and I was just there less than 2 weeks ago!
Maura,
It's really been ONLY 9 months for you? WOW. That's all I can say. You are so amazing and you have adapted to this like a duck to water. You're doing so beautifully (and are such a beauty anyway!).
The pain you're talking about sounds to me like overstretching of the ligament that holds up your breast tissue (I forget what it's called - it's the ligament they shorten during a breast lift). If you (like most of us) have lost a lot of breast mass, you end up with the "saggy baloon" shape that's bottom heavy, which puts a lot of pressure on that ligament when you're not supported enough. When I'm doing cardio, I make sure to wear a really good, tight compression-style sports bra - otherwise, I get that pain and am very sore afterwards. I know some folks who will wear more than one sports bra to avoid it, too...
BUT... i'm not a doc, so make sure you do see the breast surgeon!!!
(hey - this could be grounds for insurance covering a lift for the girls!!!)
