Good morning all - yeah Steffi, I checked the boards quickly on my iPhone at home while waiting for hubby to finish getting ready for work and thought it just wasn't updating because roll call hadn't been posted yet! Happy Birthday to your hubby...sushi?   LOL!

I'm up and at work - my nephew detailed my SUV yesterday and it looks like a brand new car - a joy driving it in this morning. So far things are working out well with him living with us - I'm trying to teach him patience and tolerance - something he's in very short supply of, and since I'm not his mother we tend to have more adult conversations than shouting matches.

Speaking of his mother she and my b-i-l will be arriving at the house sometime today - anxious to see them!! I miss my sister terribly since she moved to Florida - sadly I don't have much vacation time left so I won't get to spend a lot of time with her but at least she's here for a while.

Made arrangements yesterday to take my mom's ashes out to York on Tuesday to be interred with my dad - I wanted to wait until at least one of my siblings could go with me and since Vicki will be here she said she'll go along. I know that will be a sad event but it has to be done - at least they'll be together again.

Not sure what else is on my agenda today - my co-worker is going to take me over to the local courthouse to re-new my notary license sometime this week - getting down to the wire now and I have to get over there to get it done. The worst part is going into the main courthouse because they have metal detectors now and my stinking knees set them off, so I have to go into a room and be patted down. Oh joy...I should be used to it by now since they do it at all the airports and stuff, but I'm not sure that's something you ever get used to!!

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather.

Kathy

Do you think your nephew could come do my car?  It's bad and I would love to have a clean car again.

I'm glad you will be able to bring your mom and dad together and will have your sister there with you during that difficult time.  My parents divorced back in 1990, but they are buried within about 50 feet of each other in our synagogue's cemetery.  They are far enough away that my mother won't try to do anything to my father.. LOL

My nephew should have his own business - whether car-detailing or painting - he's meticulous and does a great job - sadly he has no self-confidence and no matter how much praise we give him it doesn't sink in. The one person he really needed and wanted it from, his step-father, only put him down when he was young - calling him dumb and stupid and he couldn't do anything right - OMG it used to make me crazy -and instead of my sister standing up to her husband and telling him off she coddled my nephew and gave him stuff to make up for it, which has created the problems he has now. they all need some serious therapy but will never get it because they don't believe in it. Sad...because he's a very talented man, but unmotivated.

Yes, its time to get mom out there with dad - her father is also buried there so that's nice. And now I have NO excuses not to get my butt out there every few months - I've been terrible about it for the past few years.

Good morning Steff, tell Larry I said Happy Birthday!  My son's birthday is this Monday, he will be 12.  Im pretty excited for him.  Anyway, things for me have been getting better.  I hesitate to say it but I think I actually feel "normal" again.  I dont get as tired as I used to and it seems like Im not constantly reminded of my recent surgical woes by my body either.  Things are picking up!!!  Yay!!!

Today has me working till 3:30 and then heading home to save my children from being eaten by their mother.  She is home sick and the kids are giving her a hard time getting ready for school.  I dont envy the Baumgardner children's chances for a fun filled evening, lol.

Well I hope everyone has a peaceful and joyous day.

Glad you are starting to feel normal again.. whatever normal for you is.. LOL

I hear you on the kid thing.  They just don't seem to get when someone is not feeling well that you should just leave them alone or run the risk of ruining their own good time.  Well, maybe one day they'll figure it out.   Hope Jen is feeling better soon and that the kids survive the evening.
