Good Morning All - what's on the menu today??

I need to come up with some better breakfast ideas this weekend, I want to get away from the carbs. I am thinking of making some of eggface's "bites" or maybe just going back to fruit and yogurt

B: 1/2 bagel with cream cheese
S: yogurt
L: Ordering out, never did yesterday, just ate leftovers
S: lunchmeat roll ups
D: hanging out with Mom so not sure
S: something at Mom's or some nuts when I get home

sigh.. last night I fell off a bit, but am not going to let that stop me

M1: homemade granola bar--- Karen--- it seems kinda crumbly, still yummy, but crumbly??
M2: egg and cheese
M3: turkey burger (didn't have it last night, no time)
M4: greek yogurt w/granola
M5: not sure, going to a congregant's house for a potluck.  I am bringing a tossed salad and I know the meal is going to be vegetarian
M6: will be something there, as well.  I know she said she has watermelon

Morning, All

Liz - i find things like Muscle Milk light (sometimes over cheerios), protein shakes with frozen banana, etc., get my day off right without adding carbs.  When i have extra time, an egg-beaters omelet with some veggies is a nice option.  For a while I was taking your advice and making it at night so I could just heat it in the microwave - that seems to be a good "winter" option for me.  Summertime, I want cool things in the morning.

M1:  Protein shake - banana and PB2
M2:  Activia light yogurt
M3:  Chicken salad with greek yogurt on a tortilla
M4:  homemade granola bar
M5:  Dunno - possibly sushi? or Thai salmon?  (going out, I think)

I find cheerios and banana to be high carb from my perspective.

A serving of banana for me is 1/2 of a medium banana (14g).  And for regular cheerios, I have 1/2 cup (half a serving - 10g carb, minus 1.5g fiber for 8.5g net carb) with my 8.5 oz muscle milk.  So neither one is adding too much carbs - just enough to balance the protein in the muscle milk or shake.  And I'm tracking the carbs from them in my daily allotment.

I just find that usually I can balance my eating better if I have that balanced carb/protein meal as my first morning meal.

If I ate either of those or even combined them, I would be starving in an hour and would have used up my carb allowance for just about the whole day.  I try to avoid banana due to the fact that even 2 of them would leave me hungry for more.  I only had 1/2 of one yesterday to try the ice cream theory.  Could not wait until snack time, I was ravenous.

Some days your the dog and some days your the hydrant.

If you don't mind me asking, what is PB2?  I assume it's just peanut butter?  I've seen it a few places, but don't have a clue what it is..

David,

Pb2 is dehydrated peanut butter. Sounds odd but tastes great. Use it in baking, cooking, Smoothies, and such. You can also reconstitute it with either a little water or some safflower oil to make regular peanut butter.

Get it from netrition.com ...It's by bell plantation.

Trader Joe's also has a new product called peanut flour that's basically the same thing but with no sugar added to it.

Enjoy!
