Can use some fingers crossed, chicken swinging, horseshoes, lucky charms, etc.
Ok-- I had a FANTASTIC day today. Truly fantastic! Some background is in order-- I applied a few weeks ago for a job at work that I really want. REALLY, REALLY WANT. The last time the same type of position came up was in February. I interviewed for it, was in the running and they finally decided in June not to fill the position.
So, I had not heard anything since I applied other than the brief HR phone interview where they "vet" the applicants. Today I got an email thanking me for applying, noting that they would be removing the posting and as of today they had 51 applicants and were going to be interviewing only the first five. Then the email said I was one of the 5!!!!!! WOOOHHHHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
The email also warned that the interview process for this position will be extensive as they consider a key position in this department/market and will likely consist of 3-4 in person interviews in various locations, a potential telephone interview or two and a final interview with Corporate in Hartford, CT. So, it sounds like stiff competition and a long road ahead, but I am in the running. Receiving that email was such a tremendous ego boost-- it made my day.
Thank you for listening to me gush or kvell as Steffi would say. If you have made it this far, any lucky charms, positive thoughts, affirmation, prayers, etc. would be greatly appreciated! Did I mention that I want this job? :-)
