Hello everyone.  I haven't been on for a bit but I wanted you all to know how I'm doing.  I thankfully haven't had any additional complications since my discharge from the hospital.  I have been getting a little better everyday.  I'm still not 100% but I'm getting there.  I have to go back to work tomorrow and I can assure you that I'm not looking forward to it.  I will just have to take it slow and manage my way through it.

OK so here are some WOW moments Ive experienced since my surgery 30 days ago.
1.  I am wearing my wedding ring again.  (My wife loves this one)
2. I am wearing the jeans I have had packed in the bottom of my closet for the past 2 years.
3.  I can cross my legs like an old man now. Lol
4.  I have rediscovered my jaw line again.
5.  I have lost 50 pounds since my surgery.
6.  Ive gone from 5x shirts to 3x shirts.

Well that's all for now.  I hope everyone has a great Monday.

Wow - 50 pounds already!  i know your complications sped things up, but still!  Wow.

I would be shocked if you felt 100% at this point... it's a very rare person who does, and you had some rather serious stuff going on there.  Be patient with yourself, respect what your body is telling you, and you'll do just beautifully.  Make sure you plan time to rest a bit and time to walk a bit into your workday.  DON'T let yourself just fall back into old habits (it's really easy to do, trust me!).

And what are you doing crossing your legs... didn't your doc tell you not to?!  (enhances the risk of blood clots for the first few months post surg...)  It's one of the things we routinely "scold" newbies for forgetting :-)... but congrats that you CAN.

Well check you out!! 50 lbs and all those WOW's! You go, Swede!! I know you've had a rough start but pretty soon all that will be behind you and you'll barely remember the bad times because there are so many great and wonderful times ahead for you.

Congratulations - take it easy at work (and hey, I didn't know about not crossing your legs, either - oops!)

I'm very happy you are feeling better Swede; congrats on your post-op Wows.   I suggest you look at that list when you get home from work as the first day doing the old "normal" things might exhaust you.   You've come a long way and had many stresses in the last 30 days; treat your body AND your spirit AND your mind gently til you are back in the swing, so to speak.   P.S. I agree with your wife, the ring thing is a big thing (that you BOTH can share in-not a whole lot of those on the journey).   My husband LOVED taking my ring to get re-sized for me (3X!)

Great news, Swede. So glad you are feeling better -- and so sorry that you have to go back to work. Just remember to take it easy on yourself. Hope to see you when I get to the other side myself.

OMG!!!!  A JAW LINE!?!?!?!?!  AWWESOME!!!!!  Hee hee hee!  Just kidding - congrats on all the GREAT wows!  And, 100%??!!  Well...we can't ALL be just like me! :)

Good luck at work tomorrow - and as someone said - find some time to walk around a little - although you will likely be sleepy, you need to be moving! :)

Glad you are checking in!
