**Wonderful Wednesday Roll Call**
Obviously this is one of them since my morning posts are always done from my desk - LOL. Anyway, I'm here - its freezing in here AGAIN but today I'm prepared with heavier slacks and a sweater in the closet. Which is really insane considering its August? Oh well...I'll live.
Not much on my agenda today - have to venture out at lunch time to get dog food and some gift cards at the bank. Sending some VISA gift cards out to my granddaughters so they can do some back to school shopping and I think I'll pick one up for a 50th birthday party we have Saturday since I have no idea what to get this person.
And that's about it for me today...hope everyone has a great day.

Happy surgiversary to Lesley and Sandra.. both inspirations in their own ways.
Today has me working uintil 3:30. During work, I have a 2 1/2 hr training session on Healthcare reform and how it affects my coding job. Fun Fun!
After work, making the spinach chicken bake that I never got to yesterday. Tonight is First Strides so I will hopefully bring Siehara somewhere and then head there.
Bron was supposed to come in for the day to hang out, but his brother and his wife are having a lot of problems and Bron (and maybe his bro) are going to be moving out. So, Bron is going to apartment hunt today. Plus, Bron really needs to stop using his bro's car, so he is going car shopping as well. He told me he never really needed his own car before, but now that we are seeing each other, he has a need. Thank goodness because our plans have been foiled more than once due to the car situation.
Anyway, I better get to work since I will have 2 1/2 hours of "down time" during the training and I have some deadlines to meet.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Congrats to the two Surgiversary Ladies, you are both an inspiration. Alas today finds me heading back to the real world up north, and back to the job of taking care of the grands. I have been at my Tn. home for about 6 weeks and really do not want to leave, I could have even had a job here, but must keep to my promise of the two year free babysitting for my grands. (only have to make it till June of next year, then it's Tn here I come.) I love my babies, but I really like the easy living down here. I did get to go to a WLS support group down here last Monday, and the best part was it was almost in my own back yard. The group was small, but that may have been due to last of summer vacations, and they were very welcoming. (I must not that I was the smallest one in the group, and some of these people were over a year out, it made me feel a little funny when I introduced myself and gave my surgery date, and weight loss) So I am loading up the car, have to make a run to get rid of the trash, and I will be on my way to Md. Then on Sunday I can head home to Pa, in time for Sept 2nd which is my birthday, my husbands birth-
day, and our wedding Ann. We will then head back to Tn for a few days to move more stuff from there to here. Then back home again. Well I need to get on my way. Everyone have a Good Day, and be safe.

Today I am working, then tonight I hope to go to Cross Fit again with some friends. I hope I will be able to walk for a week after this time.
Jason is so happy with his app downloads and has already made some updates based on feedback. It is a good first try I think. Thanks for your support.
I've been lurking on the board for a couple of months now. I would like to be more involved and use the boards to the best of my advantage. I'm super busy and have a hard time getting to the traditional support group meetings. Is the 'Roll Call' post just to check in on a daily basis?
Amy
Welcome to the board and congrats on un-lurking ;-).
Yes, the roll call is just a way to check in and build community. We recognize that our lives as a whole affect our long term success... so understanding each others' lives and providing support in areas that don't SEEM wls-related actually helps us all be more successful. And we care about each other and watch out for each other, too.
So welcome! We're looking forward to getting to know you!

Today's the first day of classes, which means it's a nut-house on campus as folks try to figure out where to park (NOTE: If it says "RESTRICTED" or "EMPLOYEES ONLY" it means students aren't allowed to park there... DUH!!!), where to walk, where the buildings are, etc. Also means really high system usage during drop/add, so we're babysitting everything carefully today.
Today is also Becky's first day of college classes. Wow. It's hard to believe my baby is in college. She was cutely nervous as she headed off... had been hanging out in my office before class. She's going to do just beautifully, but starting something new is always a bit nerve-wracking for her.
Otherwise, just an ordinary day - working on learning a new programming language/framework, which is fun and scary, but important for my continued professional development. So will be "deep diving" to focus on that for as long as possible today.
Home tonight to continue cleaning/organizing my studio. Hopefully Eddie will feel like helping tonight - sigh. :-)
Have a great day out there!
