My current "Crack Snack"

As in, I can eat them like a crack addict does, well, whatever they do with crack. Sniff it?
Anyway, this may not be new to some of you, but I just read about them last week.

I take a slice of cheese, any kind but I prefer hot pepper cheese.
Break it into 8 small squares and place them in a wide circle on a plate. You can use parchment paper, but I just lightly spray the pan with some cooking spray to keep them from sticking. Then microwave for 1:00 to 1:30, until the pieces expand and start to get brown. Time varies per cheese.   When they come out and cool off for a minute they are crunchy like crackers. I use these to eat salsa. Yum! It’s cheese and salsa. Practically guilt free, with a little protein from the cheese. And since one slice of cheese makes 8 “crackers", it is totally enough to satisfy my crunchy fix.

i am definately going to try this.  remember lisa talking about her PB addiction.  well  I have a cheese addiction for sure.  I love anything except american.  Right now working on a horseradish cheddar brick.  can do low fat/part skim mozzarella and one low fat swiss I like, but most I indulge in are full fat.  bad . .. bad. . . bad.  OK, my goal is to preportion a brick into 1 oz servings so that I have to unwrap each portion instead of just cutting at the brick til its gone . . . think that fits with the 8oz jar vs. 32 oz jar learnings from Saturday!!!!

You can also do the same type of thing with shredded cheese in the oven....

Grated Parm makes GREAT "croutons" for caesar salad

Cheddar sprinkled with garlic powder or other spices is nice too

GREAT ideas!
