Oh Nic....I wish I could say something that would make it all better.  But it won't.  Therapist or not...you have feelings, frustrations, struggles.  Is it realistic to think that because I'm a nurse I won't get sick?  No, it's not.  Therefore, it's not realistic for you to think that because you're a therapist you won't have mental struggles.

Know that we understand, we have been there, we will BE there, and we ARE here to help, just as you always are.  With a hug, an ear, a tissue for tears.

Dennis' post...summed it up beautifully.

Call me if you need anything!

Pam good point being a nurse does not keep you from getting sick.  I do need support, I do need back up. I appreciate you all being here.

Yeah, Nic, it's really real. And while your "head knowledge" allows you to recognize the patterns in yourself...they are patterns nonetheless. It seems like you have had more than your share of frustrations lately, large and small, and it adds up. And those old patterns are lying in wait for us....they trained us so well for so many years that you are still vulnerable to their ways.

Hang in there...vent when you need to. Do a killer workout tonight so you are able to get to sleep well.

I have had no where near the challenges of others this year, but have had my fair share. Seems like there has been bad news abounding since Stephen died. I guess that you have to take the good years with the bad and cherish the good even more. I appreciate you.

Nic, just wondering this morning...as things develop for your mom, perhaps you can research the organizations in her area that support the visually impaired. Another friend's mom has benefitted greatly from the local Assn for the Blind. They have helped her deal with a lot of fears.

Therapist or not you are still human and have emotions and feelings just like the rest of us - and sadly for us food is usually our first choice of comfort - but you know that just recognizing that is only half the battle - and sadly that is the one comforting thing always close at hand.

I am so sorry to hear about your pap - I will send lots if prayers your way and his.

Kathy
