Rambling...So....is the same behavior changed ok?
Wow, Pam. I so appreciate your honesty and openness through your journey. You always inspire me, even in your down times.
There could be so many things going on that are affecting your weight (and bloating), and you and your docs know how and what to look for in that. No need for me to go there...
As to the crux of your question, though, dis-ordered eating is dis-ordered no matter what the food is, healthy or not. This is something I'm coming to realize and having the very same struggle with. If I'm eating too much or in response to something other than my body's need for nutrition, it doesn't matter whether I'm eating a piece of poached salmon or a Big Mac. It's still my eating disorder rearing its ugly head.
However, by limiting my access to non-plan foods, I can limit the damage that my eating disorder can do to my weight loss. It will still do damage... either by slowing or preventing loss of weight or building muscle or by eventual weight gain... and I can't ignore that. It's equally possible to gain weight eating too much HEALTHY food.
Ultimately, it's about moderation and getting a handle on not using food as a drug. Until that happens, or until I have the tools to make it happen more often than not, it's about damage control for me. Not a pretty picture, but I'm coming to realize a truer picture.
Portion control and planned eating... tools of success for WLS.
Hugs to you - you are one of the most courageous women I know. And you WILL get through this and it will make you even stronger and more capable in dealing with these issues in your future. It's not an "inevitable" slide back into obesity (although I know darned well that's the whispering voice in the back of MANY of our minds when this happens).
Hugs and love.
Karen
