I'M BACK!!!

I got home yesterday about 5PM.  Still sore and movin' kind of slow, but feeling much better than earlier in the week.  Slept very well in my own bed.  I have to say, I am so grateful to have picked such a good surgeon.  My anatomy was not what he expected to find, so he had to route things a little differently.  He spent just over 4 hours fixing me up, and he told me yesterday, many other surgeons would have just sliced me open to make it easier for them.  THANK YOU, Dr. Boorse, for going the extra mile and keeping it laproscopic!!

THANK YOU all for the prayers and good wishes!  Pam, sorry I missed your visit but indeed I had good drugs that night!  Liz, I got your card yesterday, that was so nice of you.  I felt buoyed up by the energy of all of you.  Planning to make it to Liz's next week, Lisa offered to give me a ride if I'm not driving yet.

So move over on the bench for me!!

I hang out on the RNY board from time to time and just come away thinking, "You people don't know what you're missing."

Welcome back to the real world and the Loser's Bench!! Your surgeon sounds awesome and nothing feels better than trusting someone who is re-routing your innards! We were getting lots of updates along the way on your progress. So glad you're home - you'll feel so much better in your own space. Bed already, eh?? I didn't sleep in bed for almost 2 weeks but I had a very comfy chaise lounge in my bedroom at the time that I used so I slept and rested well.

So take it easy - don't overdo it - sip, walk, sleep - get up and do it all over again, and watch the pounds melt off!

Welcome home Deb!!! So glad I am able to share this journey with you.  You are a trooper for sure.  You hit a minor bump in the road and came out smiling!!!

Don't forget my offer to help out in the store, too.  If you need anything at all, I'll do my best.  Heck, we can even put Siehara to work.. who cares about child labor laws.. LOL.. I'm sure she'd be happy to help out.. it involves clothing!! 

definitely let me know if you want a ride next week.  I am MORE than happy to come and get you.  

So glad to hear you're home and doing well!  We're nearly surgery sisters.. I feel a kinship!  

I just got back from my first post-op appointment, and I'm down 39 pounds from my last pre-surgery weigh in.  It's a pretty good feeling... and knowing there's more of this to come makes it worthwhile.

Hope you heal quickly and are up and about in no time.
