Funky Friday Roll CAll

Thanks - yes, something you really don't want a steady diet of. If I get a 'fix' once or twice a year I'm good. It's a great place to meet our friends from Yardley and another friend who lives in the city - she can get there by bus, so its sort of a halfway point for all of us - get together, have some munchies, a few drinks, then head on home.

I am skipping the crab "sauce" version. I am making homemade french fries, thinly sliced, then sprinkling them with Old bay. Then I am topping with crab meat, then reduced fat cheddar cheese.

I have never been to Chickie and Pete's.  Jason made his own version of crab fries on Sunday after listening to everyone talk about them. He actually put warmed and seasoned crab meat with cheese and bacon on fries and then baked them in the oven. they were not WLS friendly but good

They sound yummy! There's a place called Smitty McGee's in Fenwick that makes them that way - way too fattening, but very good. I doubt I could eat them now - way too rich.

Chickie's uses the small crinkle cut fries and makes them crispy, then douses them with Old Bay Seasoning - which in itself isn't too awful for us - but then they give you these cups of melted cheese sauce - its not cheddar - not really american - something inbetween - but oh man is it good!!

And this is why I only visit Chickie's once or twice a year!! Oh,and their lobster pizza - YUM - and their cheesesteak nachos - again -YUM.

Definitely NOT a WLS friendly establishment because they even put crabby fries on their salads - LOL!!

it is more than just old bay.....I HATE old bay - but LOVE LOVE LOVE their crab fries!

They probably have their own 'secret' recipe and that's what makes them so damn addictive!! I love the fact that as soon as you're seated they ask how many baskets of crabby fries you want!! MINE, MINE - THEY'RE ALL MINE! So back away from my Crabby Fries.

Um Steffie - we'll be there around 1:30 on Sunday - South Philly - would love to see your face in the place!!

HA HA!  I am no where neat the South Philly C&P - I live around the corner from the one at Roosevelt Boulevard in the far northeast.  so stinking jealous that you have a crab fries plan....ugh!!!!  I WILL get some....although, I did have a Texas Tommy from Nifty Fifties the other day with their cheese fries - I am pretty sure that I shouldn't do that again any time soon!  (Oh - and i did NOT eat the roll...that is good right?!?!)

One of the girls I work with lives right around the corner from that one by you, too - she's a regular and I'm so jealous! I have to make an actual PLAN to get up to S Philly for mine, but I've got a plan now and I'm going Sunday. OMG a Texas Tommy AND cheese fries!? That would kill me - not eating the roll was good, tho.

There's a bunch of us going so I'm sure we'll have cheesesteak nachos, lobster pizza, cf's, and wings - altho I do pass on the wings now - I don't know if its the butter or what but they made me  - well, as much as I can.

OMG one of my worst, first foamies episodes was at C&P's one night - the poor bathroom attendant thought I was dying! I'm not sure what it was that did it to me but it was horrible. Took me a long time to go back there, but now I know what I can tolerate and do it in moderation. A little of this and a little of that...

Oh, and did you know that there is a Termini's Bakery in that same strip in S Philly? Its a killer going up there!! LOL!!

Good morning Nicole and everyone!

Who knew that my craving for Chickie's and Pete's Crab fries would effect so many people - and I may add - I still have NOT had them!!!!!!  Just saying!

I am up and showered and feeling pretty good - belly seems a little more swollen - not sure what that is all about - but the drains are doing well.  Totally jealous of Julia who is sleeping in her own bed - can't wait to do that - just a few more days! :)

I have no real plans today except to tutor this morning in about an hour.  Then the rest of the day is up in the air.  I may take the girls out (My children - my breasts come with me wherever I go!)  just to get out of the house.  Larry is around all weekend.  We will be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary on Monday and have made no plans to do anything - so we shall see what the weekend holds.
