Saw my surgeon today!

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!  As I was laying on the table and he removed the bandages, I thought I was looking at someone else.  There was NO SKIN sagging to either side of my hips, my breasts stayed upright and I was shocked.  I can't believe that the results are so immediate.  

I came home and got undressed in front of the mirror.  I am shocked at who I saw in front of me - a petite woman with some bruising.  There is still swelling around my abdomen and the sides of my breasts, but I can't beleive it was me looking back.  I am so looking forward to getting to know my new body.  Larry told me that I can now see what he always saw when he looked at me!  (He was obviously BLIND!)

This process is surreal.  I know it will take time to get used to the idea of not having to tuck things under my apron or girls to stop the sweating.  I got out of the shower and didn't have to put the towel under anything!  I actually used it to dry myself and moved on.....weird.....

CONGRATULATIONS STEFFI!!! Sounds like a perfect day! I don't know if I'll ever be able to afford the belly work, but a boob lift is definitely in my future. Even if I'm 80 it WILL be done!

How much weight was removed during this process? if you don't mind me asking.

Half of the belly work and all of the breasts were covered because I complained to my PCP and GYN for months about sweating, rashes, uncomfort, etc....  I ended up having to get back x-rays and did physical therapy for a few months, but it was WELL worth it - I was really NEVER that physically uncomfortable, mostly emotionally - my suggestion is to have your doctor document issues - real or not - and then submit to the insurance company when you are ready.

As for the amount of skin - I was told about 8 pounds!!!!!!  CRAZY!!!!!  And I don't mind you asking ANYTHING!

8 POUNDS?!?!?!? That's AMAZING!!! Did you think it would be that much? WOW!!! I think for the most part my belly might not hang over as much as just not lay flat. Now, when I bend over, gravity is CERTAINLY not my friend! ;-p Same as when I'm exercising and I'm on my back and throw my legs up above me and try to touch my toes behind my head on the floor...the thigh skin also has a very strong draw due to gravity and it's NOT pretty. You are VERY lucky to have had this done. Enjoy! I'd be be staring at my nekked self too!!

Congratulations Happy Girl!! Sounds like the surgery was a huge success and I'm so happy for you!! And a bit envious, I might add... Would love to get my girls done some day and my thighs - I can live with the belly stuff - hopefully some day...in the meantime enjoy your new body - you've worked hard to get it and gone thru a lot!!

since I spent the day with you yesterday, I know exactly how you were feeling going into this.

I am so happy you were able to shower today and that the results are what you want.  Just wait until the swelling goes down and you can really see what the rest of do. 

Don't think I didn't notice the big smile on your face every time I called you a skinny *****  You know I am so extremely jealous, but just as happy for you.  You deserve everything that you have worked so hard to achieve. 

Larry was NOT blind.  He loves you how you were, how you are, and how you will be.
